Interplay naming their projects after other company staff?

Dule

First time out of the vault
I was at the Valve website reading the names of people who worked their, and noticed that one of their names was Bill Van Buren. Van Buren was also the eighth President of the United States, acording to dictionary.com. Just thought I would share it everyone (although im sure someone already knew that)

Does anyone know why the project is called Van Buren? Does it have some meaning im just not getting? :?

You're right. they're naming the projects after the presidents in the USA.. we're now up to Van Buren..

If they ever get to Bush I'll be shocked... I don't know how many more presidents they can get through before raising the mighty flag that says Bankruptcy :-\.

Ahh, I see. Im Canadian so I didn't recognize the names. :)

hrmm... I feel my American ignorance coming around, what did Van Buren do? Sorry lol, US History is this year for me. The past two years have been "everything but America" history. I don't know much about our non military conflict history as of right now :-\.

Read that for Martin Van Buren's biography.

Interesting fact, three of the greatest presidents of the USA were of Dutch descent: Martin Van Buren, Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
In fact, where my descent comes from, is maybe 5 miles away from where the Roosevelt descended from... :D

el_Prez]you dont recongnize Martin Van Buren? Hes one of the greatest heros in the history of North America.
It's easy to be one of the greatest heroes in the history, when the history is only 200 long...

Only about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, but trim and erect

Am I the only one to think they should have chosen a better opening line?

Teddy Roosevelt was more of a aggrandizing imperialist than a 'great president.' Also, his election pretty much broke the socialists under Debs' back. At least he was heavy into el environmente...

"environment" in spanish would be "el medio ambiente", deliverator. I know you don't care, bu I just wanted to use my knowledge of spanish for SOMETHING until I get back to school.
