The guys over at RagingBull forums are still wondering what Herve is doing to their money, they found a press release from Titus, which shows Titus Interactive's "consolidated Net revenues for the its third quarter of the fiscal year 2003/2004":
Our main titles for which sales were accounted during the third quarter were: Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance 2 and Fallout Brotherhood of Steel for the Playstation2 the Xbox platforms in Europe.

Sales for North America are very disappointing due to restructuring measures of Interplay Entertainment Corp's exclusive distributor, Vivendi Universal Games. Marketing of Interplay products assumed by the distributor have been dramatically reduced during this period. Active discussions on this subject are taking place between Interplay Entertainment Corp and Vivendi Universal Games in order to resolve this situation.
They had a net revenues of EUR 13.9 million for the third quarter..

Dear Gamer,

Thank you for your interest in Interplay Entertainment Corp. Unfortunately this game is out of print and is no longer offered for sale by Interplay Entertainment Corp.

That leaves Fallout Enforcer. I wonder how many copies that will sell...

... for, oddly enough, the only two games we've actually got released.

Interplay top five best sellers:

1) Fallout/Fallout2 Dual Jewel
2) Descent3/Descent3 Mercenary Dual Jewel
3) Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel
4) Battle Chess1 / BattleChess2 Dual Jewel
5) Freespace 2 20th anniversary edition

Makes you wonder why they decided to abandon the customers that buy their *good* games, and make garbage. Considering that games they thought wouldn't make them as much revenue, are the best sellers years after their release.

Simple Analysis:

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel PS2 - Amazon.com Sales Rank 1785
Fallout 1 / Fallout 2 Bundle - Amazon.com Sales Rank 234

However, these are still beaten by

Baldur's Gate 2: The Collection - Amazon.com Sales Rank 77

Cancelling FO3 and BG3 never seemed so stupid...

I'm thinking maybe it was better that way. Better to have a shitty, failed console shooter nobody knows or gives a damn about than a mediocre Fallout game. Future of Fallout simply isn't with Interplay. I'd rather see the series die than get ruined with a buggy, rushed, below average sequel (and I doubt even BIS was in a position to develop anything better, considering the sorry financial state of the company).

Saw this on Winterwind posted by kumquatq3:
I just heard this a day or so ago, it may be old news to some but..

Quote:
Interplay gave a check on Friday (5/14) that covered the 4/30 pay period. The employees were told to not cash it until Monday. They are having a meeting on Monday to discuss the next check. And insurance was cancelled on 5/12 as I understand, though it might have ended earlier.

And this on RPGCodex:
Herve Caen, CEO of Interplay, is supposed to have a big meeting today with various employees about their current situation. What is the situation? Well, it seems they're having a wee bit of trouble meeting their payroll again, as employees have only been paid for the period ending on April 30th, as promised, but not the period ending last week, which they should have gotten. They weren't supposed to cash their late checks until today, however.

In other fun news, Interplay has cancelled benefits for their employees again.

So, anyone out there still stupid enough to think that they actually sold those D&D rights rather than just lost them in a legal tangle with Atari?

Oh, and as of this posting, they still haven't posted their earnings report for Q1 2004. Just FYI

Interplay website is down, btw.

I get to do the news post if their site is down for a bit longer. That way people can find the new Interplay web site without problem.

:liar: I did not have relations with that women, and interplay is financially stable :liar:

And I wanted a backorder of Freespace 2 aswell
