IPLY stops phone support

Evidently Interplay has given up on giving out phone support on their games, according to RPF he only got an automated respons telling him to look at the website IPLY has.
What's next, no more games from IPLY ?

On a sidenote, we here at NMA have decided (together with DAC) to stop posting news about Fbos. Anyone who's been paying attention lately will understand why.

Edit: We at NMA will still cover Fbos, to show the world how...erm.. mediocre this title is (Odin). It's better to state our opinion rather than shutting up. So Chuckie, are you up for a interview ?

Like I pointed out on DAC. I don't plan to stop posting about Fallout Enforcer just because of rumors of Fallout 3 and a piece of concept art that may or may not be new. Color me paranoid, but I wouldn't put it past Interplay to leak this Fallout 3 stuff for the express intention of getting Fallout fan sites to back off the negativity about Fallout Enforcer. Even if that is coincidence, it still doesn't change the fact that Fallout Enforcer is a really bad idea that whores the license.

I agree, I really don't want to stop posting news about Fbos since I believe it's better to state our opinion regarding this issue, rather than shutting up about it.

THe Big Lie School

The Big Lie School.

As long as "paranoia" or "cynicism" maybe be relevant to this drama.
Might there be two Machialvelians possible?

A 'leaked' Gass-bot would be excellent material to misdirect the negitive
anticipations. In fact it may be a positive form of manipulation that could quality as "public relations"! Just as measured and disciplined discussions of the wide ranging "nuts 'n' bolts" of (a still vapor-ous) FO3 could retread/reinstate the Interplay Forums. A path to Warren G. Harding "normal-ACY".

Some love 'dead presidents,' but the object of Jefferson and Van Buren
were/is to accelerate the rate of Ben Franklins. May it be so.

Shadows loom.

Off in the wings, perhaps "stage right", could be the disciples of "The Big Lie" waiting with THE BIG FINGER of Big Brother(hood) to cast a bolt of damnation upon
the rabble that stabbed FO:BOS/I'play/FO3 IN THE BACK(side).

Propaganda won't sell many games, only rationalize mediocrity to
corporate suits, whose real gold mine is exploiting the tax code.

Vassals of Interplay.

The dark distopia of corporate socialism manipulating the medias,
presenting the image of the noble "Prince", asking only for fealty
in exchange for a warm and fuzy security from the barabarian anarchists AND PIRATES that would dare to demand a fully developed and playable game. Something more than image, and ""kewl particle effects.""

A free flow of information from all sides would be a good thing.

First after milking the Jefferson crowd for so long and then not releasing it they aren`t going to do the same thing with Van Buren. Yes, IP management are stupid, but not that stupid. The bad press alone would make it suicide.

Second, Killzig idea wasn`t meant to stop the negativity, the FOPoS boards will remain as they are now. The idea is simply to cut any link between fallout fans and that crap game, by not even giving it the slidest publicity on the front pages, and bad publicity is always better than no publicity, and at the same time replying to the salutations to fallout fans from Chucky with despise.

It`s time to keep vigilants with FOPoS, but start to look at Van Buren too, at this time i only know that will be Fallot3 (but don`t quote me on that) in 3d, with a party made with deeper NPC`s, that will take generic orders during combat, that there is going to be a perk to use dual-helded guns and that the feedback from fans is coming from strict fans from BIS and IWD fanboys, with few exceptions.

And Killzig was banned again. And Saint still isn`t allowed to go there. All things that have to take a bit of our effort, and to be on our focus.

FOBOS will be out in September. Until then we must stop the life as usual praxis, and start to focus on Van Buren, and on the interesrting games that may appear like ToEE, and vote with our silence on the main pages as to if FOPoS is part of the Fallout world or not.
Ditto.

Also i posted this on DAC after Killzig thought of another way to give news on FOPoS, a compromise:
Still that means people should be vigilant on all the gaming sites that cover the game, even if that takes putting the links on the Fallout:Enforcer or the FO:PoS boards, but giving any kind of publicity until the time the game gets released is a bit too much for my stomach...

Killzig thought of a new formula, a compromise, i`ll see if that works better, until then i won`t post anything on NMA about the game except if it`s something that envolves dramatic events of some sort.

But one thing is bothering me though, everyone is thinking that the Van Buren talk is a way to divert the attention of FO fans from FOBOS, when what is really happening is that while the fallout community is still discussing FOBOS and getting on with their lives the feedback BIS is getting comes in large numbers from BIS followers and IWD fanboys.
It`s time to wake up people, or one day we´ll wake up on a world that has a FO3:IWD with cool particle effects and bullet time ninjas on our hands...

This is his idea:

I've already pointed this out before.

For us, bad publicity is better than no publicity. See, if we didn't point out the flaws, Chucklehead would have his free reign to do his idiotic Iraqi Minister of Information act. I'm still laughing at how that guy thinks 2-3 or so is a big number in a good location at E3. That boy is on some serious nose candy.

Now, with people seeing the title and going to Interplay, all they will see is the idiots that have their parents buy them games while they still live with them in the basement at age 31, Chuck's spin, and might miss the utterly ridiculous methods of the current IPLY boards.

Then give that the fansites show up quite high in search engines, people will do research on the game there as well. So instead of negative press, they will see nothing bad and then think there's nothing wrong with the title.

There will be idiots, but most will be able to put it together. People buying a game that people said was shit didn't help Daikatana and other titles at all.

Ok point taken, but i still think the small blurb on the front page pointing to a separate page on the site with editorial comments is better than give it too much attention.
I`m ok with any solution, as long as Miro, Odin and you put it, i don`t think i have the stomach to put it myself...

Double Standard

....It`s time to wake up people, or one day we´ll wake up on a world that has a FO3:IWD with cool particle effects and bullet time ninjas on our hands...

I am presuming that FO Traditionalists lobby for a continuing saga, and the enhancement of the RPG aspects of game play. Traditionalists are bashed for wanting to cut down the "chrome de jure" so developement time can be concentrated on mundane and boring narrative integrity and continuity. Traditionalists are flamed for ""wanting to play the same game over and over"". I suspect a fundamental misconception of "continuity" and 'quality assurrance".

IWD Do-Bees appear to sworm and "swarm" and mimic manipulative machinations attributed to the uncouth Traditionalists,
but retain their "pet" status; are allowed to poop on the rug.....

Not that "Trad's" would want to pee in the corners at the I'play Forums; every dog, cat, jackle, lion, fairy, elf, mutie, ghoul or pirate marks or "signs" territory in "socially" acceptable or scatologically offensive ways. Lot of lead dogs crossing trails, and sniffing tails. Seems that posturing goes beyond a 'sig' or 'avatar' or contributed content, when stampeding for the 'spot' light.

All in all I sense a double standard that can only burden the dev's with endless demands for the kewl stuff found in other games.
It's ok for these Do-Bees to advocate the play of those run and gun games. Out to replay achieving that level 40 elf mage, 99% hit ratio,or camping for another player kill.

OVER AND OVER,......, looks like the same game, ain't it.
