Is anybody going to at least play it?

Still Mildly Glowing
Is anybody going to at least PLAY the game? Doesn't necissarily mean you have to buy it, just TRY it?

All the anti-hype has gotten me way curious on how badly they mangled the Fallout lisence, and I guess the only way to find out would be to play it and see for my own eyes.

Yeah, I'll rent it, and if it is as horrible as it seems, of course I'll point out the fallacies.

On a side note, I did pick up a Fallout 1/Fallout 2 combo pack at a local EB Games for $9 about a month ago. If BoS is truly a PoS, I'll flush it out of my head, install both games on my machine and see what the fuss is all about.

...wait...

You've got Fallout 1 and 2 and haven't even INSTALLED them yet??

I've got Fallout 1 and 2 on permament Humungous Install on every computer I own.

Agreed, those two will never leave my hard-drive.

Why exactly are you posting here? You do notice that this is a Fallout website/forum, don't get me wrong we're glad to have you. I just don't know how you even got here if you have never played Fallout.

I have no intention of playing it for two reasons.

1) it isn't the type of game I enjoy playing.

2) I already have enough of a backlog on games I need to finish up.

No.
a) I don't have a f-ng console (luckily).
b) This is not a Fallout (seriously!), then why do I have to play an another scabby FPS? Heh.

Eh...

But its not a FPS! Its an "action game with roleplaying elements!"

I'm going to get it with a gift certificate to TOYS R US my mom thought it would be funny to give to me; the gift card has a fucking Barbie on it, only appropriate that I use it on something like BOS...

I'm a Fallout Fan, but I'm not so rabidly defensive over the lisence, if Interplay wants to seal their own demise by killing Fallout 3, they can go for it, theres nothing I can do about it, so I'm not going to whine over it, but thats besides the point; when I get it, I'll play it a bit and try to write a review for all you, from both the standpoint of a gamer and the standpoint of a Fallout fan.

As for consoles... I love them, I've loved them since I had my Sega Master System when I was 4. When I'm alone, I normally play on my PC, but when I've got friends around I pull out the console; consoles are much more of a social gaming device in my opinion, but if you guys don't like them, to each his own, I guess.

What the hell does that have to do with anything?

I don't like dogs.

I don't like fucking dogs for the reason you pointed out: THEY SHIT EVERYWHERE.

"action game with roleplaying elements!"

Everything nowadays is said to have damn "roleplaying elements!"
Go on, i dare ya! pick up any new game from a store and there's a 50% the package says "With roleplaying elements!"
Even in the new Gamebanshee interview the otherwise-sensible-guy was asked the question of "your favourite RPG?"
He said Quake. :D

Well in the strictist sense of the word everything is a roleplaying game... you play the role of the character, right?

The Terminator game is a roleplaying game, you play the role of the Terminator, Quake II is a roleplaying game, you play the role of a Space Marine, Grand Theft Auto 3 is a roleplaying game, you play the role of a criminal, ect ect, blah blah blah.

We'll just have to wait and see how much "roleplaying elements" are actually in FOBOS, only less then a week left 'till the bane of plenty of Fallout fan's existences is let loose on the world...

I'll say one thing about my experience with it...

... It does not actually cause physical pain.

Roleplaying elements Pshaw. Your skills, or lack of them, only makes it harder to hit enemies. Mostly worthless.

They didn't execute well on a lot of little details. The graphics, okay, but I've seen better. The whole story, barf. Characters, uninspired. Weapons, actually kind of fun to actually hit something in real time with a super sledge.

I just didn't have time to actually finish, preview copy that wasn't supposed to reach my hands  New rumor of Fallout Boy as playable character is worrying me.
