Is deleting patches on the 360 safe?

First time out of the vault
Just want to make sure because supposedly, you can win effortlessly at caravan without the patches. Do want considering that the NPC's keep putting Jack's or King's or whatever on my piles, fucking me up.
 
You can try, but there is always the possibility that you're saves wont work with the unpatched version and be forced to repatch
 
You do realize that's how Caravan is supposed to be played, right? With the AI not putting cards on your stacks, it was basically impossible to lose at it if you knew what you were doing.

I know, I just wanted to get the 2 achievments for winning at Caravan with as little effort as possible.
 
The only problem I ever had was that I was then unable to access Dead Money on the current (not new saves in future) saves I had, so it's bad if you haven't played DM on a save, and had planned to. Otherwise, it was fine.
