I am primarily using Ed as a pack mule. I take him along, start seeing red on the compass, back him up a bit, and make him stay behind as I go on. However, that could take me quite a distance as one group of enemies or discoveries, takes me to more around the next bend.
So either I trot up ahead and have an even longer walk back later. Or come back, grab Ed, then proceed further, but stop short again and leave Ed as I mosey on forward to kill some enemies. I can not find a way to force Ed never to attack, so if he follows, he kills everything effortlessly.
Leave him behind and it feels like Survivorman and I am walking back to grab my camera equipment. There is no remote function? No shut off attack switch at least? Thank you.
