Is there any chace of a Fallout 1/2 re-release?

First time out of the vault
So after watching the Fallout 3 trailer (and finding out that the release date is about a year and a half away), I decided to pull out my old copy of Fallout 1 and play it for the first time in a long time.

But then came the technical issues on XP, I tried everything on here and that I could find on the web but I still have the bad character screen flicker and screen blackouts.

It got me to thinking, what are the chances that in the lead up to F3 that we'll get an econo re-release of F1/F2 that's been updated to resolve what I think are the DirectX 8 or 9 + compatibility issues running the game?

This is something that's been done for a number of classic games series - Sierra - King's Quest and Space Quest got updated comps, Blizzard has released comps of Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo, etc.

None, Interplay retains the right to exploit Fallout 1 and 2, not Bethesda.

We can only hope for fan-fixes for technical problems.

I don't have those problems with Fallout under XP (with compatibility mode shortcut). However, you can always run it inside a Microsoft Virtual PC environment for perfect compatibility. Install Windows 98SE under Virtual PC, and voila !

You can also try running Fallout's DOS executable (that the first game had) under DOSBOX.

A Fallout 2 re-release would be great. I have no problems with 1, but 2 is just utterly broken. Has never worked on this computer.
