Is this movie any good?

THe Day After was a big hit when it came out. Everyone was talking about it. Kind of a soap opera and not as good as Threads, but worth the watch. Get it from your local library, don't buy it.

Red Dawn- fun popcorn flick not to be taken seriously. Goes down well with beer. Somewhat silly but entertaining. Teenagers become resisters to a commie invasion. You can probably catch it off AMC or TNT or get it for free from your local library. Don't buy it.

Omega Man is a nice movie because of the setting. New York without anyone alive reminds me of 28 days later. In fact the guys from that crazy cult that appears during the night look like zombies.

I see........

omega man reminds you of 28 days later???
I should punch you right in the nuts.

HEY!! would somebody ban this fucker?!

ps

omega man rules.
red dawn sucks.
food of the gods is cool

What sets 'Le Dernier Combat' apart from others in the post-apocalyptic film genre is the fact that there is no dialogue spoken at all. Contrary to the criticism that it is a novelty, instead the absence of dialogue draws you into the movie, helping you become intimately connected to the survivors and sharing their experiences as if they were your own. Moments of suspense, despair, isolation, melancholy, elation, defeat and great joy are all conveyed superbly by the cast without the benefit of speaking. There is a singular moment where two of the characters say "Hello" to one another with the aid of what I believe is helium, but beyond that you won't hear a word spoken in this film.

leave it to the french to make a film about mimes.

Yes, make that 28 days later reminds you of Omega man. Or die. In fact, don't compare them. :D

Back to topic. Any other opinions on The Last Battle?

Come on guys...28 days later is not that bad ! (if we cut the last 20 minutes).

Charlatan Heston reminds me of Planet of the Apes. Go for it.

I didn't like the original Planet of the Apes that much. Too predictable, I guess.

I loved 28 Days Later, but don't say The Omega Man reminded you of it.

It needs to be the other way around.

I watched The Day After on Friday. It was good, but a little disappointing (I'm not sure whether it was worth the buy or not). First hour was boring, and was very drama. Then it got funneeh. Bombs went off, and everybody got pwned . Second hour was very post-apoc, with radiation poisoning and general desolation, much like in the towns of Fallout 1 and 2. Overall, I guess I liked it.
