Is Vault 13's...[SPOILERS]

TamaNeko

It Wandered In From the Wastes
...destruction inevitable? I hate getting the bad ending for Vault 13 and the deathclaws... Isn't there some way to avoid it, or is there some sort of time limit?

I think it's inevitable, I once finished the game before Frank payed them a visit, but then the deathclaw's aren't mentioned. And I continued to play after the end and they still got slaughtered.

To the best of my knowledge, it's just another one of those unsolved bugs. Regardless of what actions you take, the Deathclaws are always doomed. (Or they're not mentioned at all)

Personally that always annoyed me, I hoped that at least releasing the Deathclaw at Navarro would help, but no dice.

Is it common knowledged that there are two ways to get to Vault 13. One of course would be to go to Vault 15 and dl the map info from the computer. The second way, I just found out tonight was through Westin's Ranch. I took on Westin's Job to find out what was wrong with his bramhan, and I was able to walk into V13 after a pair of Deathclaw appeared....then ran off the map.

Hmmm, you get the location of Vault 13 that way? I do that quest everytime, but I don't know if I actually checked to see if I got Vault 13 entered on my map afterwards. I THOUGHT the only way to get to the place (without just stumbling upon it) was to check out the Vault 15 computer system. Can anyone confirm?

It's true, if your outdoorsman skill is high enough you get an option to follow the talking deathclaws.

There's a third way, you can talk to the drunk guy in the small building on the Westin map. He'll tell you he made a map on a painting, but you have to buy it from the doc in the NCR.
