Have you tried opening the files in a slightly different universe? I find that doing things over in a parallel uinverse often solves the problem. I think it might be small particles of dark matter messing up our reality from time to time, causing havoc and disorder. Try a parallel universe with a different Planck constant, but nothing outrageous - trust me.

Ha! Fallout 2 Save Editor mean nothing to me. For Fallout 2, for example, there is falche editor, SGE editor etc. Maybe check other editor if u have problem with that one?
