Kansas City Solved

After much trial and error I figured out how to get through the attack at Kansas City without getting chewed out. First put all your guys accept for your trapper behind the baracades at the west gate. Use your trapper to put several mines, closely placed, in front of the baracades at the south gate. Hide your trapper and after the first mutant wave hits the mines, run out and place more. As the attack tapers off at the west gate bring your guys over one by one and put them behind the baracades at the south gate. You end up with a big old bloody heap of mutant bits. FYI I used Stitch, Rebbeca, Rage, Stoma and Stumpy. I only lost 1 ghoul at west gate and 2 at south. North gate took care of itself.
 
I allways place one sharpshooter at the north gate, two heavy manchinegunnests at the side gate and take the other 3 down south. Then I run my main character back and forth to make sure everyones doing ok. Seems to work just fine.
 
For some odd reason that escapes my ability to reason out I always get "chewed" out for not protecting the gouls in Kansas City and in the end mission the commander basically says that I did a crappy job on my orders even though it looks like I went through them near perfect.:o
 
I setup one guy with an M1 Ganard to snipe (don't laugh, it has good range) on the North side. No worries there.

I setup my guy and Jo on the West side, armed with a Pancor and Ak (don't laugh) respectively.

For the South side I setup a big Vindicator in Jax's hands, another Pancor in Rage's hands, and Farsight sniped.

The boddies piled up, but I too only lost three Ghouls total, I believe. I left with the Nuke and assurances that any knowledge of its working would be shared with the Brotherhood.

All in the day's work.
 
I found out that the side gate will also take care of itself. I put all of my guys at the south. I had one guy with a rocket launcher that tore up muties in groups, two guys with brownings, and 2 sharpshooters and stich running around keeping my guys alive. As soon as you kill the last mutie at the south gate it says objective complete.
 
There is one thing however. It seems to me that if ANY of the ghouls die that the bishop gets pissed off about not protecting his people or something but still gives you the nuke. I have tried every thing I can think of to pass that mission without getting a single ghoul dead but at the south gate there is one that runs out and runs into a battalion of super mutants and gets killed. Even with power Armour and a browning M2 with the pancor for another guy I still can't keep him alive even if I just rush the group of like 20 or so and kill all of them. :o

Power Armor? You gotta be joking, how the heck can you get PA so early ?
 
If you prepare this mission well, you can have zero casualties. I did that a couple of times in turnbased mode, but it's a hassle. Good mission, though.
