Too bad they don't have Police Quest and Quest for Glory. I prefer those, but Space Quest is good too. I was never a big fan of the King's Quest games, though.

For those who are, remakes of number 1 and 2 are available as freeware. Quest for Glory 2 has also been remade, by the same group, and released for free.

I saw this! I practically grew up on the Space Quest series, it hold a special place in my heart and shaped my taste in comedy for the rest of my lifetime... This is also why I hate the Space Quest series, after playing them, I find I enjoy Leslie Neilson movies and sexual innuendos.

Space Quest 3 was the first game I ever played.
I must've spent dozens of hours wandering the character around those first five screen in the dumpster ship, trying to figure out what the hell to do (I barely spoke english - I think I was about 10 years old at the time)

I posted this on another thread a bit ago but for those that have not seen and or are fans of the space quest series you will enjoy this.

"I think Scott Murphy is a bonafied genius!"

I remember getting that "making of" bundled in with the Space Quest Complete set I bought many, many moons ago.

Thanks for the nostalgia trip.

OMG! Fifteen minutes till detonation!!!! :aiee: (I never played the original first episode, only the remake.)

Probably among the best games ever, though.

Damn... Feel like reinstalling now...

One of my favourite lines from a SQ game is when you tell Wilco to pick up a ladder, and the announcer says "You'll never fit that into your pants."

Wilco looks at the screen and proceeds to put the ladder into his pants, and says "How's that?"

The announcer then says "Wow... must be a lot of extra room down there."

Great franchise.

I use to play those with my dad when I was little back in Russia. After finishing up Mass Effect I "came across" the entire series and spend some time beating them again both originals and remakes. It was a blast but i noticed how easy it was to lock yourself out in the earlier titles. Glad to see I'm not the only one that still keeps these games close to heart.

I think I played KQ V or something but I did not like it as much.

Thanks rcorporon, those were indeed great. Ohhh what could have been?

Where is ol' Scott Murphy now a days?

Ha! I googled "Scott Murphy" and first thing that came up was "Scott Murphy for Congress." But, no, it is not the Scott Murphy we are talking about.

http://www.scottmurphy.com/ Here is his website (assuming last updated summer 2008). Doesn't give much to what he is doing though.
