Landing in the Middle of Nowhere PT

ok, ok... here it is:

of course the spear is not made out of plasma. Here's explanation and i would like someone to point out the things he doesn't find logical:

First of all let us see what do we have in Fallout 2 game:

Plasma rifle (or was it plasma launcher?) and
Plasma pistol (or whatever)

both of them fire slimy-looking green matter.
And if i'm not mistaking this green stuff is plasma (or not!?) and it's actually THE thing that cause damage (plasma has high level of chemical energy which can initiate almost any chemical (endoterm)reaction) causing skin and other tissues to burn, change agregatic form and so on... so, the plasma is matter conceited of pure energy (or close to it)...

on the other side we have primitive tribes from Africa whose hunters use all kind of venoms which they place on the shaft of their spears so they could bring down their huntings... easy way to kill, not sure if the pray is eatable afterwards...

So, unless your killing a deathclaw just so you could eat him, you are free to use any kind of toxic sh*t to make him DIE FASTER!!!!

right... anyway let us now go back to our mod:
Yes, my mod which i'm not sure some of you have tried, but still found it suitable to comment...

The spear has opening at the shaft which inject the plasma directly in enemy's body, causing burning and tissue to tear ( !?) AND IT IS GENERATED/HEATED/OR WHATEVER using the energy from micro fusion cells. So, if some of you had even tried to play you would have taken notice...

So what's wrong with that?
How can something small like spear contain all the stuff needed for plasma to be generated?
I don't know, it's future... how can something as small as one-hand pistole do the same thing?

there...

questions?

P.S. And I have hoped that the debate such as this one would have taken place in the topic about the mod...there you could have seen what other players think about the PLASMA SPEAR.
And sorry bout grama... still learning English...

Not to be rude but... who cares?
I like the thought of a plasma spear, the lightning, the sound and the meltdown of the enemy, such a feeling!

I mean, it is not like Fallout is perfectly logical.
Mutants? Not a chance that mutants could exist, at least not the way they do in fallout.
Native tribes? I don't know, but I don't think people turn to indians after some nukes. And it is not like they are the most probable people to survive a nuclear war. Giant scorpions and lizzards are not very probable either.

If you still wan't to change plasma spear, change it to 'electrical spear' or something. Make the spear give people a schock of 5000+ volt when you hit them or something.
I like the look of it this far, I really do. Keep up the nice work.

BTW, I am Jakob, swedish, likes to draw (will submit something soon to the forum maybe), and I am completely sold on the Fallout world and that is what I call an introduction. See you later. :)

hey, maybe we could work out something together... You could sand me some concept drawings and I could make in-game arts out of them  ... C-ya around then...

Oh c'mon people... A plasma spear is an HORRIBLE idea; let's have some common sense here mmmmkay? Though I guess it could work somewhat like a plasma torch (which actually exists) or something... But that would still be a very specialised weapon and probably not practical enough to justify mass manufacturing. If you can fit that in the plot, then that'd be nice.

Anyway, the images are truly awesome. How did you make them? Do you make a 3D model of them and then export a low-res bitmap render? If so, then do you need to retouch the bitmaps to make them look nice at such low resolutions...?

I like this all, only use it in right place in game like New Weapons Laboratory.
In Eye of the beholder 3 was room called Weapons Lab where can be found "rock+3" this was cool.

who said that plasma spear was mass-manufactured? It will be a uniqe weapon, like some new i'm developing...

Some pictures were made only by using photoshop, some using 3dsmax (8bits bmp render) and retouched with photoshop and paint (yes THE paint)
