Last chance to buy Fallouts cheap on GOG

GOG.com is running a one-week promotional sale on Interplay titles, including Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics, at 50%. This seems like an underwhelming sale after the Interplay package, but it's also the last chance you get to nab individual titles before an upcoming price hike.
GOG.com has been in talks with our good friends at Interplay, and we’re pleased to be able to say that we have good news! Not only are we adding four classic games from their catalog to GOG.com in the near future, but we’re also going to give you another chance to save big on the games we already have for the next week!

Every silver lining has a cloud, though, and the reason that we’re putting the games on sale again is because we’re raising the prices on some of the Interplay games on the 16th of November as part of our new deal with Interplay. As such, games such as Fallout, MDK, Redneck Rampage and others may never be as cheap on GOG.com as they will be this next week. If you’ve been hesitating to pull the trigger on any classic Interplay games, now’s your last chance to buy and save big!
I don't think I've ever seen a price increase on a digital platform before, let alone a price hike for several titles. Not sure what Interplay or GOG.com are thinking, here.

Pricing here is irrellevant truly, what are we talking about? A hike from 5 bucks to 10 bucks? 10 to 20 at best? When kids are spending over 100$ of their parents money for a new title like Assassins Creed 3 this seems to take a backseat to the debochery. Bleeding edge guys.

Isn't Interplay losing the rights to sell the games at the end of the year? Pretty sure they are trying to sell as many copies as possible in the remaining time.

I believe their distribution rights end after December 2013.

In the last 2 months of their contract I would make the games free. Bethesda would not be impressed. But the F1 and F2 games are irrelevant, and chump change for Bethesda now, they have other things to ponder.

I think offering it for free would constitute bad faith dealing with regards to their contract with Bethesda. You don't get to take free potshots like that when you know you'll lose a license.

Did anyone ever download Fallout or Fallout 2 from GOG? My Fallout 1 game randomly crashes. It ruins the game, the only thing I can do is start over or hope the crash wont happen from a pervious save.

If you are going to sell an old game and raise the price on it, at lest make sure it's going to work properly.

@ Ramen

"I feel your pain."

Have installed GOG's FO's on different XP Pro systems, different generations of Pentium 4's with ATi or Nvida graphics, Mac Boot-camp partitions, and a Mac Parallels Windows emulator.

No problems, maybe because they were XP.

Can find solutions for other OS's, Vista and 7, at appropriate forum here or at GOG.

Official patches all there, except the Child Patch I think.

And.

Only problems when piling on large mods. Those being works in progress, got the fixes straight from the artists at the NMA mod threads.

3 Ironman playthroughs for Fallout 1 from gog and no problems.

If I have already bought both Fallout 1 and 2 on steam, do you think I should buy them again? Are the versions different? If I remember there are a couple different versions that come down to censorship so if anyone thinks it'd be worth it...

Kilus, were you running it on XP? I had it crash on two different computers both running Windows 7. GOG says that it's compatible with Win 7, Vista and XP which is not the case.

Joelzania, should be the same game. Anything taken out from the original can be re-added with patches and mods.
