Liberty Prime

CaptainNemo

First time out of the vault
My favorite character. Ever. A Commie smashing giant robot with a Gort-style eye beam who can toss huge bombs like footballs? Awesome. A Commie smashing giant robot with a Gort-style eye beam who can toss huge bombs like footballs and educates you about the evils of Communism at the same time? Priceless.

I wasn't aware it warranted a spoiler tag. Had I told what L.P. was attacking, yes. Describing it's capabilities and lulz worthiness? No. But if you wish to ad the tag, feel free. This is your forum, after all.

Yeah, until his feet start floating in mid-air as he descends an incline and he begins walking into obstacles at the Jefferson Memorial trying to blow up enemies.
He's like a normal FO3 enemy slowed down and blown up to ridiculous proportions, much like the behemoths.

His comments were very amusing, but it's such a blatant "let's have lots of explosions and cool things for the ending!111". I mean, a giant robot? I wish it had stayed deactivated, think it worked better as merely an idea.

That and the fucking thing got stuck on something in my game, resulting in crashes if I went on ahead without it.

Not really a "character", but it was sort fun, more of what I'd expect from an FPS or something, honestly. My friend laughed and told me "oh a LITERAL Deus Ex Machina" when I described him - lucky BoS just getting that thing :D

Does your friend know what "literal" means?

For Steel's sake, stop bitching. It solves nothing. Fallout 3 has out sold every other Fallout project. Bethesda will continue this license, and there's nothing you can do about it.

Wow, you're a champ, man.

That sequence was stupid. I felt like my time was wasted pressing "W."

Sadly, yes.

Felt like that sequence was a hit and miss from bethesda.

It would have been cool to be able to something myself :|

Theoretically the whole section would have been much better if you and the BoS fought against the Enclave on separate paths with Liberty Prime and then converged at key spots, such as the bridge.
Imagine seeing Liberty Prime blasting his lasers at some targets as you can see his upper body sticking out above some buildings, then having him turn to meet your path and save your ass by zapping a few Enclave Soldiers as they start pelting at you.

It would have been far more compelling and would have resembled an actual large scale engagement, instead of the awkward segment they had in place where it seems almost like an on-rails cinematic because you're just watching him kill junk.

I think it would have been better if Liberty Prime hadn't worked at all. Or had malfunctioned and started attacking the BoS, or perhaps there could have been an interface where you could change the primary target of LP.

What they had was fairly uninteresting and not worth the 5 minutes of gameplay.

I liked the overall concept of a giant Communist fighting Iron Giant-type robot, but the delivery was laaammme.

I wonder, should Liberty Prime have been some kind of Enclave weapon instead that you and the BOS fight at the end near Jefferson Memorial?

Well, to be honest last 10 minutes of fallout were like
"oh nice robot wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww the end"

Liberty Prime was quite cool, but i RLY would like to see some nice scripted duel with lets say behemot (or enclave robot, or ANYTHING )

btw,about this whole ending
Fallout 1 got master (boss), F2 got Frank... f3 got no boss at all (dont tell me that this "almost" nameless enclave officer twat was a boss)

Tempting, tempting, but it would have to be really well written and designed.

For now, perhaps Liberty Prime would have been better of as a weapon the Enclave sends after you.

I thought the Liberty Prime section was great but short. However, your idea would have been much better.

Yeah, seeing Prime blow everything up was cool but after a short while I was like uhh....do I get to do anything? I just kept getting hit by fatman nukes because I moved on ahead without Prime.
