Defiant Gadhafi Vows Victory or Death

So I don't know if it is true or not but it seems like some say the rebels controlling the whole of Libya is just a matter of time. They stormed Gadhafi palace and conquered a few cities.

So might it be possible that after 40 years of Gadhafi regime people might finally taste "freedom" in Libya ? Or will just one dictatorship be replaced by another ? For one of the Oil producing nations Libya has a pretty poor population. And the question is what kind of future might the nation have without Gadhafi. And if the people will really have once a chance to enjoy the benefits of it.

So what do the people think ? Will we see here eventually more freedom ? Maybe even a democractic state ? Or just another "military/political/fanatic" dictatorship ? To say that I am not even sure which political view the rebels actually follow except for "Gadhafi has to go!". - Not that we have heard much about egypt either ...

I'm glad about this. Let's hope after Gaddafi gets capped Assad starts to weaken too.

Indeed. Blights on the human race is general finally removed.

I just want to see the main Gadaffi spokesmen - not one of his sons, the guy who was always addressing the media - caught and punished harshly. Everytime I saw that lying bastard I wanted some rebels to storm the show...

EDIT: Moussa Ibrahim that's the guy.

I'm glad that Gaddafi is on the way out. I express my condolences for the people of Libya, for they had to endure more than 40 years under that lunatic.

The issue now is that that Transnational Council, the ruling body of the rebels and widely recognized legitimate government of Libya, were primarily united only in their hate of Gadaffi.

The country looks very dangerous ATM, the rebels are just as likely to kill you with a stray bullet, then to be killed by the government troops. I can never understand why they waste so much ammunition when they fire into the air. Hopefully at the end of this the country will settle down, but I think Libya is still 20 years away from a being peaceful, well run, democracy. :|

Probably because shooting machineguns are pretty fucking awesome. RPG's too.

Shit, I'd shoot a few mags of 7.62x39 into the air on a regular basis if I could.

It's always good to have someone like Ghadaffi gone, of course, but I fear this isn't going to end well. What with the tribesmentality etc.

Of all the countries that have gone or are currently going through democratic upheaval, I think only Tunisia has any chance to make it. All the rest of them are mostly going to end up back in some kind of dictatorship.

It might've been better if Ghadaffi just croaked from old age or something, since his son (Al-Islam) seems too dumb and uncharismaltic to rule a playground, nevermind a country (such as it is); so reform might've come by itself.

It's always highly positive to see someone like Gaydafi burn. About time everything caught up to him. I hope he experiences a mear fraction of pain and suffering he has inflicted to others. Burn baby burn.

If you are trying to establish some kind of a democracy, is good to appeal at assurance of an international humanitarian law for everyone. Otherwise there will not be much difference between the previous and the present government.

Sure, give the guy a fair trial, and then burn him.

Ah, you are a barbarian, dude! :)
If the man deserved to be executed, just make it fast and clean, that's all.

Looks like Gaddafi got his just deserts...note: it's nasty.
