Of course 90% games are for Windows, but still there is some modern games native in Linux with the last tehcnology, as you can see.

- Eve Online
- Penumbra
- Gish
- Gears of War (waiting for the installer)
- UT2004
- Flight Gear
- SM Alpha Centauri + Alien Cross Fire
- Savage and Savage 2 (when it be released)
- Eschalon Book I (When it be released)
- Neverwinter Nights 1
And there is plenty of educational games for childs (I have two sons) for free.
You can play, and enjoy, in Linux. Windows has much more games, but Linux has some other advantages,
