Beneath a Steel Sky.

One of the best point-and-click adventure games out there. It's freeware nowadays, give it a try. Great atmosphere, awesome artwork.

Kudos to that! :D

ultima games, more specifically:

4: highly regarded, there are graphic updates

5: much better engine, story is nice

6: first rpg to do seamless world, great story and environments. cool combat

7: tends to be most peoples favorite, expansion turns you into an OPed killing machine

7.5: my favorite, expansion is awesome

8: so-so, sorta beth-TES-like

9: nice idea, nice execution, story is poor overall, lots of things locked out that shouldnt have been.

Within the first five minutes of Ultima IX there's a telescope that, if used, hard locks your PC.
There are horrible bugs like that spread out across the game, I definitely don't recommend it, even if you're incredibly lucky like those liars who said they never suffered any major issues, the writing, world design (like two buildings in a town, worse than Ultima VI for god's sake) and absolutely terrible combat and dull platforming sections turn it into a horrendous travesty.

You'll have more fun with Daikatana, everyone loves Metamasers.

i never had any major problems with U9. only 1 playthrough did my save-game become corrupted and i was using cheats at the time so i cant really blame the engine.

Celtic Kings: The Punic Wars (or Wage Of War)

They both have their pros and cons but I would consider The Punic Wars to be the best, because it's more of the same.
But I don't like the instant train button on the town center, that just sucks... You have to play to know what I mean... Anyway great games!!!

And while we are at Haemimont Games I can tip about Tzar: The Burden Of The Crown, even if not as good as Celtic Kings, they still are very different from each other. Celtic Kings is all about territory warfare (no construction of buildings and such), so to say. Tzar is just like any other RTS, like Age Of Empires 2.
