Lost my car! Help!

Pancra85

First time out of the vault
Hello!
It's my first post in the forum, and sadly it's because I need help.
I have started to play Fallout 2 again, I was too young to finish it when I first got it.
Now I was in San Fran and the car was next to the exit grid, I really dont know why instead of clicking on the car, I walked to the exit grid, but I was on the car, I could see the picture of it and traveled fast like I was having it. So I went to the Military Base that it's next to San Fran and killed some mutants, when I wanted to go to another place I found my car wasn't there next to the exit grid of the Military Base. Also I've checked on San Francisco and it's not there either....I've had some ammo and other things in the car, but I only want the car now, if I dont get it back I'm afraid I wont continue playing Fallout 2.
It's there anything I could do?
Thanks a lot

Well, we can't really help you with the information you provide us. The stickies contain instructions:
1. If you have a technical problem (and you do), we need to know what patch you're using.
2. The disappearing car thing has come up before, though usually there's still a trunk left. Try using the search function to see if your problem hasn't been answered already.

I've searched but couldnt find anything like that.
I'm using the Megamod version 2.1.1
And there is no trace of the car, not even the trunk.

The fact you're using the Megamod is the most important info... actually, it's far from being the latest version. It's possible that a bug occurs at the military base with this version. If MIB88 is around he'll tell ya. But as I'm playing with the Megamod, I can tell you that the car often disapears, even in the last version, 'cause it hasn't been scripted yet i guess.

Why don't you people ever post in the right bloody forums?

Ha, I thought I have been posted on "Fallout RPG Gameplay & Tech", I guess it's my mistake, sorry.

Ok, thanks for answering, it's there anything I could do? like savegame editing or something?

The easiest thing is to go back to a previous savegame, which hopefully won't cost you more than a few hours' playing time. If you've been using one save slot over and over and don't have another one to load, email me the save.dat and your number of experience points. No guarantees, but there's a small chance I can work some black magic with it.
