Luke Haase...Interplay desperately working on report.

Orderite
It appears that Interplay is still alive, with most of the employees (both of them), working on their SEC filing.
I expect the company’s quarterly report to be forthcoming in a matter of days. Several people within the company working hard on delivery of this report, as well as on other fronts to get Interplay back to a sense of normal operations. Several hurdles remain of course. Lots of factors at play here, including cash and debt, new offices, litigation on Airborne and other matters, relationship with Vivendi and distribution plans, impact of Titus situation if any, Fallout Online, and several other items
Amazing, who would have thought the corpse would continue to twitch after so long?

The zombies are coming :!: I mean cmon die already that we woudnt have to see that idiotik "fallout online" .

They haven't been in the business of making games in a looooooong time. At best, they have licensed other peoples' work. At worse, they have been playing musical chairs with development licenses and skimming money on the turn.

There is value left in the company, but not much. The shell might be worth $500K or so to someone who wanted a cheap way to go public via a reverse merger. Most of their IP is gone. They have some cash flow (minimal) from heritage games. However, they are sitting on a mountain of debt. The only reason creditors haven't pursued them yet is the acknowledgment that with no assets IPLY would simply fold and walk away. Creditors are hoping that some idiot coughs up some cash to keep IPLY alive, in which case the cash will immediately go to at least partially keep the wolves at bay. As far as making games, however, IPLY hasn't really done that for years.

Maybe Troika could buy Iply, just when it's about to die and selling for super cheap. Then they would have the rights to Fallout Online.

they even didnt have enough financial backing to buy the fallout license, how do you suppose they would buy the entire company?

We don't really know how much Bethesda paid for the IP. Or is there something I've missed?

no, we don't, but we do know they were throwing the kind of cash Troika couldn't afford...

I don't believe Tim or Leonard would go that low..

I'd find it more interesting if they would buy the Van Buren and Jefferson IPs.

as far as i know, bethesda bought the rights to Fallout 3 (and sequels?), but did not get VanBuren itself. it just got scrapped.

then howcome our little inside friends can spill info about VB without being hassled by Beth? would seem strange they would allow leaks before they decided if they are going to use it or not...

They`re not using it, as far as i know, since VU Games has a stake on the code, but i don`t have real sources that can asure anything for now.

of the few for-sure statements(like using SPECIAL) they made, they did say they are starting from scratch and they're not gonna use vb...

For some reason, this story reminds me of an article I read about cockroaches being so good at dodging death that they could survive a nuclear holocaust.

I'm just sayin'.

It's actually more along the lines that cockroaches have a primitive (or efficient depending on your viewpoint). A cockroach's head can be removed, and the cockroach can live on for two weeks, until it starves to death for lack of a mouth.

Hmm... that too fits quite well.
