Major Storyline Defect??

Just checked it. It is definetely him. I entered a noclip mode and made it into the locked chamber when they were talking. And he really dies. He's not "unconscious" there, he's dead.

I looted his body, took all the stuff. Need to walkthrough from this episode once again, just to check if this guy will appear at Raven Rock in his neat underwear :)

EDIT: I wonder, what's Bethesda's point on his resurrection? Or they were too lazy to check the things on consistency?
Why the immortal dad dies in the radiation chamber forever and the skinny badass boy resurrects twice? Is that fun?

This is a spoiler.

If you get the emergency broadcast from Vault 101 later in the game and decide to go back and see what happened, you learn a lot more about the history of the vault. Apparently the Overseer's generation had opened the vault in their time and was horrified at the realities of the wasteland, probably about the same time that your dad came bounding back with you in arms. Then all of the adults decided to seal the vault again and raise their children, including you, as if it had never been opened, so that the new generation would be spared the life of the outside world. When Dad leaves, his friend becomes a weak spot in their lie because they all know what happened and he was going to risk their story by telling you the truth, so the Overseer has him killed. After you leave the vault things degenerate until the younger generation finally learns the truth and decides to revolt for control of the vault.
