Man or woman? What's the difference? (Plus bonus questions!)

For either Fallout or Fallout 2 )perferably Fallout 2) what's the difference when you play as a man or a woman (besides being able to blow Metzger as a chick for -$500)? Also, for bonus points, what the Hell does age have an effect on?

Also, for a mega super duper bonus point and a cookie, what does luck do exactly? I've always wondered that.

Age doesn't do anything in either game. Being female doesn't have that much effect either; it mainly allows you to sleep with some people for minor bonuses or shortcuts.

Determine critical hit chance and gambling skill, affects your chance of special random encounters, and probably has some effect on any number of ingame situations.

There are different reactions from some NPC's to you if your char is from one gender or the other, but not much.

If you get to Necropolis (Fallout) you can get past Harry because he thinks you're a "pretty lady". Luck increases criticals and special encounters (also gambling btw) and if you're lucky you can get the solisticist molitasivator (the part you need for your power armor) much easier.

Good "luck" finding out (you get it??? Luck!!!! sounds almost exactly like F***)

I think it's more difficult than telling him you're a robot or ghoul, which you can do with any character.

personally, I've never managed to convice him that I'm a ghoul or robot, it always ends with him "Not fool Harry" and "Harry think he beat your head now"
