I'm not even beginning to try to learn this program in earnest, I'm trying to just watch several automated tutorials, and just get used to stuff
(Oh, and thanks Hass for recommending this!)
I have long since added Apollo Mission Simulator (AMSO), but I can't figure out if any of the lift-off scenarios actually continue automated - or if they are all meant to be manually controlled
Which... means I'll have to learn every step needed to fly to the goddamn moon...
I have on several occasions tried to sit through a lift-off scenario, just... to see if it gets anywhere, but:
1. it is typically recommended one do not speed up automated tutorials, because it may screw with the timing of certain events, but then -
2. the journey takes like a whole week - one way - just to find out IF it gets there
The closest I came to finding out was by speeding it up anyway, and for a while I was actually headed for the moon, but then seemed to bypass it, and just... swirl aimlessly into deep space (nightmare)
SO... what do I do? I go Google!
What do I find? Happy-go-lucky optimists who all feel ready to fly to the moon, and want to know what button to push, what direction to steer, just "YO, HOW DO I FLY IT TO DA MOON :O"
Christ, what IS it with people and their extraordinary confidence!?
What makes these noobs think that they can FLY A ROCKET TO THE MOON just like that!?
I'm here wondering if I can at least watch a complete simulated flight first - at least let me watch it, learn from it, figure out what happens - and THEN I'll try, but damn, kids these days, right out into the deep end, no worries, pure optimism, they're told the same thing every time "here, read this 50 page manual"
I allready know about that manual, I got it bookmarked. I'm NOT ready for that!
I know myself
I know
that I can't fly a rocket to the moon.
is what I know about myself :I
