Metal Gear Solid 4

*EDIT* Haha, the trailer is in Engrish.

No it isn't. The only strange language is for the "FPS" segment at the beginning, and that is understandable considering the circumstances.

I actually enjoy the MGS series more SC because of its cinematic qualities. Splinter Cell has always been a bit shy on plot, with Fisher jumping from location to location based on what the designers seem to think would make interesting levels. While it is interesting to play, there is not a lasting intellectual quality to it, no reason to think about the game after it is over.

Perhaps Otacon ages gracefully? I suppose the aging will be explained in the game, most likely something so strange that guesswork is pointless.

Hell, if I wanted a story, I'd read a book!

Maximum playability > story and total linearity.

Funny, because Splinter Cell *is* totally linear, moreso than MGS. In fact, the line of thinking that imaginative and epic story automatically excludes freedom and replayability is erroneous. It's very much possible to have both, so nothing can excuse absence of a good plot.

Books and games are completely separate media. According to that logic, movies shouldn't have interesting plots either, because "if I wanted a story, I'd read a book".

Depends what kind of movie. I won't expect a good story from the movie "Doom", would I?

Splinter cell 3 isn't linear. There are lots of ways to complete each mission.
