Which Metalheart front to use?

Just imagine those pics on a real box, and tell me number 1 isn`t much better, the second one looks like amateur fanart.

At first I liked the first one but after ya compare them the second one is much better. Just because it gives you a quick view of the enviroment and character. Some people that shop for games unfortunatly "judge the book by its cover" so to speak.

You could put her in some clothing / armor that isn't just floss & artfully placed nipple sized rivets, and maybe rework the art - the proportions seem a little off to me somehow.

why she look like anime chick from that ghostintheshell ripoff by bungie? Maybe make her eyes normal? First one reminds of EXIGO cover and I just prefer to see a frontt with some ENVIRONMENT on it. Instead of some blokes metal heart or whatever. Im downloading the demo to this game now I hope its awesome and russia rules.

anyway my suggestion is to combine the art style or first one with the imagery of second one. Or make her boo........<end transmission>

Don't do that, the demo is terribly bugged and even the creators denounced it as unofficial, unauthorised and practically stolen from their development studio.

Welcome, BTW.

Neither: This one would be a more accurate portrayal of the box's
contents:

Back-cover highlights:

*Heart-pounding action as you struggle to avoid it
crashing to the desktop due to being riddled with bugs!
*Guaranteed unintelligible gibberish! Localised by hobos!
*Dubious infringement of Fallout copyright!
*No confusing nonlinear plots!
*Unlimited meaningless FedEx quests!

Are you talking about Metalheart or Restricted Area?

Oops, sorry, my mistake. After reading the RA reviews I thought your previous Metalheart post was actually about that.

Edit again: How hard can it be to make a good post-apocalyptic game anyway?

They are both pretty dire, but I meant MH.

EDIT (in reply to your edit):

I'd say no more difficult than any other crpg. At the end
of the day a crpg (or any computer game) is *simply an
interactive database with model animation, a graphical
front-end and path-finding.

It also depends on how much would be 'black box' - coding
everything up from scratch would be more difficult than
using a 3rd party engine (there are many cheap licences).

You'd also need a 2D/3D artist, musician, etc. Details
about more roles can be found in any softeng textbook.

One thing that helped make complete turkeys out of RA
and MH is insufficient testing. Any company/group that
neglects to have adequate testing can be sure it'll be
cheap in the short term, but it'll bite them in the arse
when they get a reputation for shoddy work.

*For a given value of 'simply'.
