Oh, and the gunshot sounds are pathetic. I can fart louder than that.
In this case realism would mean you going deaf after a play session. Because firearms in enclosed spaces = big auwtch! Enjoy bleeding ears. :)
I fart in enclosed spaces every day and my farts are louder than any firearm. I'm not deaf. Ergo, it's not that bad.

The game is not THAT terrible, but certainly it isn't breakthrough.

The 7.0/10 from the main NMA review is the definition at best.

I still pass your farts, BTW :D

I haven't bought it yet, but to me it looks like at least an 8.5 game (judging by today's reviews and gaming market). Yet IGN and Gamespot are giving it shitty reviews.

I mean fuck, a 6.9?

Gamespot gave it a 7.5 for Xbox 360 version?

I don't get how it gets picked on for graphics, animations, FPS mechanics and textures when Fallout 3 got away with all of that being shitty, got 9.0+ from like every review and got overall GoTY. This further goes to show that it's pretty likely Bethesda pay for their good reviews.

Then you see this and realize that there are reviews giving the game a 9.5.

Bethesda: :deal:
IGN: :wiggle:
4A Games:
Honest reviews: :rip:

Metro gets picked on for graphics, textures and animations? Haven't seen anyone complain about that yet. Graphics-wise, it's the most advanced game on the market right now.

Wait, you're saying you're angry that no ones giving the game a high rating. Then you say some are? What are you trying to say?

^ I think he's more angry about the fact that the low ratings are for bullshit reasons.

Although I have no idea how it is on XBaaawks, maybe they fucked up the port.

Pretty much.

And I can't wait until Fallout: New Vegas gets critical acclaim for its awesome graphics.

I doubt they fucked up the port. One of the key design directions was to make the port perform well.

Im really enjoying it so far though. Also; on the gun sounds. The powder used is probably nowhere near as powerful as proper gunpower, so the dirty bullets are probably Subsonic. Just a thought.

True, indoors, even a small firecracker is deafening. But a lot of firearms, lots of pistols, revolvers and even higher caliber weapons don't make merely as much noise as movies and video-games bravely display.

Not sure on that, I mean Obsidian aren't Bethesda and we know Obsidian are totally unused to designing rpgs and stuff.

@Santoka, is that a Mishima in your avatar or Capitol?

That video review above is just insane... A few years late in terms of visuals ? Is that all he's got to say ?

I found this review which looks a bit more thorough and smart :

@Alphadrop : Hehe, somebody knows this, cool, it's a Capitol Martian Banshee... ;)

If he thought the game is a few years late in terms of visuals he must have been playing the console version or the PC version on low graphics settings. The lighting and shadows look amazing on max settings & dx10.

Euhm, what?

I do most of my shooting at an indoor 50m range. I know full well how loud .22LR to .308Win are. And I don't quite see how movies ever even come close...

Shoot indoors without hearing protection and then try to have a meaningful conversation with someone without yelling your lungs out. :)

Sorry about the misunderstanding, I agreed with you, The second part of my comment was regarding outdoors sound, which is not as big, low-pitched and with a huge echo as movies and video-games represent it. ;)
