The Fallout modding community has been as lively as ever, and we've had some trouble keeping you guys updated on all of it, as evinced by us completely missing the announcement of total conversion mod Fallout: Between good & evil.

For the modders themselves, Jochua has updated his FrameAnimator

dude101 pointed out a Russian Fallout 2 mod "Fallout Forever" which completely changes the game, adding all Fallout 1 locations "80 years after date" (for instance, Junktown has been taken over by supermutants). Judging by the screenshots, the mod is awesome and seriously needs a translation to English. It is not finished as of yet, but they've released a demo in which a guy can teleport you from location to location so you can explore.

Well, that Fallout Forever does look pretty cool, except for the cars, that is. How come you can get a hummer inside a military base?

Eh, other than that, it does look great.

Uhm...the military base was built around the hummer?

Seriously, though, there's the big lift model in the background, maybe they changed it to a freight lift?

i try to change the language to anything other than checz and it just stays that way no matter if i pick english or german.

We have tested our website thoroughly and as far as I know, it should support Firefox (ranging from 1.5.0.x to 2.0, possibly even 1.0.x, plus SeaMonkey and all Gecko-based browsers), Konqueror (3.5.x), Internet Explorer (versions 5 and 6, I'm not sure about 7) and Opera. It works in Links and Lynx too, to my surprise. Safari *should* be OK too.

ok it was the cookies... i allowed the cookies and it works now.

it should set initial language based upon the browsers language though.

Setting the language upon browser would be interesting, although it sometimes doesn't work - I have English version of Firefox, which would suggest that I want to see English - no, I want to see Czech version first). Sometimes people just use false strings. I think a button is safer.
 
Dont forget the graphics update patch some of us are working on. We are adding new art for the whole game without changing any of the game play side of things that way the art patch should be compatable with all/most other mods.

We are planning to add new critter models for Mark II armours and critters, so the mark II combat armour looks different to the Mark I, the same thing will go for the the Mark II robots etc ...

The ground art for most items has been updated to look like the item in question rather than just the default
box or book.


------Interface art------
By request the IFACE.FRM file has been replaced witht the updated FO1 interface that the mutants rising mods was
going to use.


------Misc art------
The explosions have been replaced with some nicer looking and bigger explosions. New projectiels for grenades
have been added, these were taken from Fallout Tactics.

I had to change the proto's for a lot the items to use the new art, but I didnt add any new protos which is where the conflicts really come from.

I did add a few new protos in the misc catagory, but not many modders add anything there (its the only way to use new projectiles)
 
Copy and paste from megamod thread:

We have 6 translators working on Mod dominion AKA Fallout forever now, vault 14 is nearly done, the small mod a letter from the past will be done soon also, we may translate Sokil mod to. After we are done with these mods we will assist teamx in finishing AL, then we will work on a Rus release of the megamod.

More translators are needed to ease the work load expectations on our team.
