mod requests

I had a mapper melt down today...but it's fixed, thank God. I need to get all of the RP maps of Killap (the man's taking a break) before I put any new object on them, that's because I don't want to mess up any of the scripting attached to them. But don't worry I haven't forget about the Nuka Cola fridge.

AND the white fridge, I need to store my beer on ice

hell, why don't you put that junk-building in the side of chop-shop to some use? add a few shelves (did i spell this right?), containers, whatever.

Hello, Nirran. I have a huge list (which is growing) of things that I would like to mod into the game when I have the time - I won't have the time in the next few months, I think I won't have any time in 2011, and it's possible that a few years pass until I ever have the time.

The mod is about completely balancing the game - skills, perks, SPECIAL. Also, adds a lot of new features (since skills who are as useless as Gamble can't be balanced, except if I don't add new uses for them).

I have very much of it planned, though most of the things are on conceptual level - without any numbers or examples. I'm still wondering whether I should hand my project to someone. But even if you go very far away from my original intentions, I guess that I'll be able to still use your mod some day, and edit it to my own, or just start from scratch.

Anyway, do you want to hear what is the mod about? I'll PM you if you do. Also, you can use just a part of them to create a mini-mod instead - for example, a mod that balances only the weapon skills.

P.S. Of course, I'll give you only ideas, but you'll be able to change/reject anything, and I won't protest about it. After all, you're doing the "hard work".

Edit: You can always create a mini-mod by balancing only one of the skills. For example, First Aid.

I no longer have coursework, so I went ahead and did a little more work on the Dobbs dialogue. Still waiting on John B. for the combat dialogues though. In either case, here is what I have.

Code:
(Insert original Pvt. Dobbs text here)

(Pvt. Dobbs runs to the elevator, and out to the exterior of the SAD. May be found somewhere roughly in the middle of the parking lot.)

(Float message: You maniacs! You blew it up! Ah damn you! God damn you all to hell!)

*On talking to Pvt. Dobbs*

Dobbs: It's all gone, isn't it?

Chosen one: [More]

Dobbs: Is it all like this? This... Wasteland?

1 of 2: Mostly. There are still a few pockets of civilization here and there, but mostly this is what it looks like anymore.

Dobbs: How long was I out? What year is it?

1a of c: 2241.

Dobbs: "2241..." He trails of listlessly and looks into the distance. "My unit's all dead... From old age or from battle... America's been all but destroyed... My family...!" He starts to cry a little.

1aA of C: Man up, soldier! The world may have gone to shit, but you're still alive! That counts for something, doesn't it?"

Dobbs: "You... You're right. But where will I go? What will I do? Everything's different now... Unless..." Private Dobbs appears to be pondering something.

Chosen One: Unless?

Good Karma (Karma greater than -50) Dobbs: Could you use a companion? I don't have anywhere else to go, and you seem like a good sort.

Below Party Limit: Sure, I could use an extra hand here and there.

Dobbs: Great! Count me in.

[To party management section]

At Party Limit: Sorry, but I think I have enough companions right now. Maybe later?

Dobbs: Oh. Alright. I guess I'll just wait here for now then... If you change your mind I'll be here.

Bad Karma (Karma less than -50) Dobbs: ...Never mind. I... Guess I had better find my place in this new world. Somehow. Thank you for getting me out of there, now goodbye. *he goes off the map. Can later be found in New Reno, dead, in front of the Mordino Casino, with a dead Mordino Casino Bouncer.*

1aB of C: Haha, what's the matter, gonna cry soldier boy?

Dobbs: He stops crying and glares at you instead. "I've lost everything. So you know what? Fuck you!" He pulls out his gun. *Initiate combat with hostile Dobbs*

1aC of C: (Charisma greater than 7 OR Speech greater than 129) You want to talk about it?

Dobbs: "What, you some kind of therapist?" He sniffs. "Yeah. Yeah, okay."

Chosen One: [More]

Dobbs: (12 hours pass +10% Small Guns, +10% Unarmed) He starts by talking about everyone he used to know before the war. The conversation eventually turns to his training in boot camp, and finally becomes a discussion on military weapons and hand to hand combat training.

Chosen One: [More]

Dobbs: ...And that's how we cleaned our weapons. Hope it helps. Hey, thanks for talking with me, I feel a lot better now.

Chosen One: So you're gonna be ok?

Dobbs: I think so. With time at least. Say...

Chosen One: Yes?

Good Karma (Karma greater than -50) Dobbs: Could you use a companion? I don't have anywhere else to go, and you seem like a good sort.

Below Party Limit: Sure, I could use an extra hand here and there.

Dobbs: Great! Count me in.

Bad Karma (Karma less than -50) Dobbs: ...Never mind. I'd better go find my new place in the world. Thanks for talking to me, and getting me out of that jar. Goodbye. *he goes off the map. Can later be found in New Reno, dead, in front of the Mordino Casino, with a dead Mordino Casino Bouncer.*

1b of c: 2078.

Dobbs: "I was out for just a year?" He looks out at the world. "So much has changed... In just a year. I guess I better see if my unit's still alive. Thanks, friend!" *he goes off the map. Loose 5 karma. Can later be found in New Reno, dead, in front of the Mordino Casino, with a dead Mordino Casino Bouncer.*

1c of c: It's been millions of years since we've used years. Of course, it's also been millions of years since we've had actual humans.

Dobbs: "What...? But that means that- You- And- OH GOD!" *Dobbs runs around in a circle before suffering his original fate of dissolving. Loose 5 karma. Player float: "Oops. Guess the shock was too much for him."*

2 of 2: Nope, just here! You should go a bit south to the city, get yourself sorted out.

Dobbs: What... Really? They didn't blow it up? What a relief! Well, best not waste any time, I'm sure the brass would want me back as soon as possible. Goodbye! *he goes off the map. Loose 5 karma. Can later be found in New Reno, dead, in front of the Mordino Casino, with a dead Mordino Casino Bouncer.*

Ok, so my idea for mod is: make one instalation for all major mods. Then when you turn on Fallout2 you can choose which one you want to play. It sucks that you have to uninstall previous ones to play different one :(
Mostly I would like to have something like that with Killap's RP and MIB88 Megamod.

I was looking for it on this forum but had no luck finding anything like that. Sorry if there already is something like that.
