I posted this in another forum, but I thought I would get some additional input.

I'm looking for a 22-24" monitor. Only req's would be price (duh), and response time.

Anyone?
 
I personally like LG's monitors, the contrast is excellent and you can find them at 2ms response time for most models. Range from 250-450 depending on how deep your pocket is :lol:
 
Got the Samsung T220 (T240 is the 24" version) for my new rig. Probably not the best monitor out there, but most bang for the buck. Also, best-looking monitor ever.

Also wanted to look more into the Hyundai W220D, but it wasn't available here.

i like it, its great for somethings like multiple browser or windowed programs

for older style games especially like dos games, its horrible. things are horribly stretched on the sides.
 
I prefer CRT, but when I do upgrade it'll be to a flat panel LCD television. You can get a larger one for similar price of a dedicated PC monitor.
 
I just use my 40' sony bravia tv as my monitor at 720p. my tv is 1080p but my sapphire 3850 video card can only and dish out 720p, but it still looks great.
 
I don't know of a single 22" monitor that doesn't use the (unfortunately) increasingly popular twisted nematic (TN) panel type. TN panels have comparatively terrible viewing angles and color reproduction. On the plus side, they're cheap and have great theoretical response times.

If you can, go for either a 20" or 24" monitor. 20" panels typically have the same resolution as 22" ones (1680x1050 widescreen) but a smaller dot pitch - that is, smaller pixels. This results in finer detail. 20" panels also come in non-TN panel types, such as a variant of in-plane switching (IPS) or vertical alignment (VA). These panel types offer far superior viewing angles and color reproduction, but are more expensive and have slower response times. Advancements (such as S-IPS) have resulted in much faster response times for these panel types, though, and since everything 8ms and under is nearly indistinguishable from one another, response time is essentially a non-issue for modern LCD monitors.
 
I've always bought Samsung monitors. Have a Samsung 206BW 20" with 2ms response, and i love it. Great if you just play games or watch movies.
