More lies and fun at the house of Caen

As far as this "under review" status for Fallout 3, Interplay had this to say: "Fallout lives...now that is not to say we have a new Fallout PC game coming in the next few months, but management will do what it can to maximize the intellectual property it owns and the fan base it has, within the financial parameters it must operate."

AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

FOBOS = intellectual

wooooooohoooohoohoohoo

and the fan base is declining at a more rapid rate than my home town's education budget!

Interplay needs to get serious. We need official press releases pertaining to the subject from the Caen's themselves. There's been WAY too much hearsay circulating around the internet. I WANT FACTS!

Well, the fanbase of Interplay is really declining, that of Fallout isn't. I can't think of anyone who enjoyed Fallout 1+2 not buying part 3. So I really hope they want to maximize the Fallout fanbase which could lead to the slight glimmer of hope they might pick up Fallout 3 again.

And I agree to you. Best would be if they really go for it and be honest: "Yes, we have financial troubles. Yes, we need that fast money. Yes, there was no other way for now than to close most of BIS. And yes, we will pick up Fallout 3 again when we generated revenues from our console titles."

It would be some kind of a nice gesture at least. Despite our anger we should keep in mind that Interplay is a company with a hundred employees. With some better business decision they might have saved them plus BIS, but at that time it was probably the best. Don't get me wrong, I don't wanna defend Interplay for what they did. But maybe they should at least get a chance to redeem for their sins ;)

Yeah, I meant Interplay's fanbase, not Fallout's. Fallout's fanbase looks like its about as strong as its been since Fallout 2 was released. Ahhh, the good ol' days.

And if all the fan backlash for FOBOS has any reflection on how well its going to sell, I doubt Interplay will be around long enough to redeem its sins.

Actually I didn't get into Fallout until the dual jewels were released, the same as a couple friends of mine.

So you might say the true Fallout's fanbase is still growing :)

Nah. Lord Caen's already realised Interplay is going down, he hasn't exactly tried to help it avoid it's fate, to put things mildly. FOBOS is the last putrid breath of IPLY, with few left to mourn. I'm just hoping the frog will get as much pain as possible from all the past debacles.

Smoke and mirrors are endemic to what's left of Interplay.

Yes what happened to BriosaFreak, he posted just yesterday I beleive. Or is this just more malicious rumour mongering?

The rumors I am hearing is that he passed away, yesterday.

Please tell me these are false rumors. I enjoyed his commentaries and the way he managed to dig up all sorts of news stories.

Are you serious? I can't believe it. Tell us exactly what these "rumors" are saying.
I hate it when people start talking about rumors and then don't say exactly what they heard and where it's from.

I feel I am already disrespectful as it is. Any announcements on this subject should not be coming from me. I already regret I said anything, at all. I just hope I am misinformed and wrong. It would be better for me to be banned than for anything of this to be true. After all it is just an account. I apologize for bringing this up, at all.

He didn't pass away. I'm not sure what the situation is either, but he mentioned that he'd be away for awhile so most likely he's just on a vacation of sorts.

Nope, definitely. Briosafreak is NOT dead.

It's that or I am receiving email from him from beyond the grave.

Interplay killed him and replaced him with a bot that will slowly turn us all around into liking FOBOS...

Though his name still shows up as Guest on the News Comments index-page (though in the separate threads it's as it should be).

Weird.

No shit. That got me freaked out! How the hell did that get started?

Like Montez mentioned, he said he was going on vacation for a bit--not dying.

At that time we will all be zombies like... on the graveyard! Now i know where the FOBOS buyers come from!

Brios isn't dead, he's just come out of the closet. He's not around because he's busy doing interior decorating on his new flat and grooming his miniture poodle, named "Toto". Oh yeah, and lots of ships are returning to port this time of year, so every day is "Dock Day", which keeps him busy too.

Nah, this is Mr. Nudge's realm of expertise. I'll just leave...

(But really, why are his posts labeled "Guest" in the first place?)

Probably a database error, if I had to fathom a guess. Or someone accidentily hit the delete account key.
