Most Anticipated Games 2008

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
What games are you looking forward to this year, if any?

I can't say anything coming out this year is very exciting to me but the ones that I'll watch are

1) Alien RPG (it is coming in 08 right?)
2) GTA 4
3) Devil May Cry 4 (don't ask)
4) Fallout 3
5) Silent Hill 5
6) MGS 4 (although I probably won't play it for years if ever)
7) Fable 2

In order from the most wanted on:

1) Warhammer 40.000: Dawn of War - Soulstorm Expansion

2) Inevitable Mass Effect PC release (I didn't know this was coming!)

3) Fallout 3 (yeah, I'm a traitor)

4) GTA 4

5) Starcraft 2 (Warhammer's cheeky copy, but still a great game)

The only must-play so far are these; I'll edit the list as people remind anything else

Hmm, let's see. Yes, i'm really eager to finally have this nightmare over with and see Fallout 3 released, however sad and misshapen a creation it may be.

GTA 4 sounds tasty, too, i just hope it won't have it's basic formula of stealing cars, taking missions and shooting random people changed. :D

Geneforge 5 is supposed to come out sometime in '08 too, at least, as far as i recall.

King's Bounty might be fun, it's to be released in February.

Assassin's Creed got me slightly excited about it, but i doubt my PC could choke up the horsepower to make it run, so meh, much like Far Cry 2 which is set to be released in May.

Then there are Disciples 3, Jagged Alliance 3, Sacred 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R Clear Sky, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Starcraft 2 and Spore.

I really need to upgrade my PC. :(

1) Final Fantasy VII - Crisis Core (been waiting for this for forever)
2) Starcraft 2
3) Resident Evil 5
4) Metal Gear Solid 4
5) Fable 2
6) GTA 4 (though I'm heavily disappointed by the main character, at least appearance-wise... would've been cool if they'd gone with a female lead for once).
7) Fallout 3... not because I'm actually thinking it'll be great, but I am curious to see just what sort of abomination it's going to be. And in the unlikely event it actually turns out to be decent, well, all the better.

I'm so for the DoW, the Sisters of Battle ought to be a nice lot, I wish the Grey Knights were their own race, as they are made up of inquisition trained psychers rather than standard space marines.

The dark eldar I think of as something of an odd pick though, most people were rooting for the Tyrranids to show up considering that they already included the Necrons (and blew any chance of balance out the airlock).

Not only that but hopefully they add more canon units, or Emperor forbid the Mechundium itself as a standalone race rather than subordinate to the Imperial Guard, It's all about the Princepts and their Titans after all.

Ah I could just go nuts with the myriad of factions that make up 40K -.- and I've only just started reading into the books, but hopefully the Sisters of Battle's main unit is the Daemonifuge, certainly would be a troubling idea that something so small could destroy the warp with barely a thought!

At any rate Starcraft 2 should be pretty good, but at the same time, my Starcraft fire was blazing back in the 90's and dwindled since due to lack of anything showing up for over a decade, so I dunno just how many North American sales there will be, though the Korean ones will definitely be up there.

--EDIT--

Stupid me, I read reviews and whatnot AFTER I post this, looks like they chose some avatar-esque meanie for the main unit for the Sisters of Battle, a pity really...

Two titles really come to my mind.

1) Half Life 2 Episode 3

2) Bionic Commando

Starcraft 2 looks nice but I am not really into strategy games though I do try.
All and all I am a little disappointed in the upcoming PC releases, I hope we may see some unexpected new entries.

Starcraft 2 and HL2 Ep3 are the ones I'm really looking foward to for 2008, which is pretty ironic because I'm also fairly certain that both will most likely be released sometime around the fabled Duke Nukem Forever release.

Other than that (from awesome to meh):

Age Of Decadence, if it counts
The rest of Sam & Max Season 2 (forgot these; edited)
Tekken 6 (I love the Tekken series :))
GTA 4
Mario Kart Wii
Fallout 3 - Probably a trainwreck, but maybe it'll be fun if you turn off your brain
Inevitable Mass Effect PC release
Silent Hill 5 - Probably a trainwreck. I'm hoping though.
Devil May Cry 4
Fable 2 PC release(?)

LOL WTF are you talking about? This has got to be the geekiest post ever. Don't take it negatively though, its just kinda funny.

Yea, if my computer could run anything decent, there'd be more games for me to look forward to.

If Duke Nukem came out in 2008, it'd probably be at the top of my list. I highly doubt we'll even get a release date this year though.

Biotic Commando seems to have everyone excited, no idea why. The only exciting thing about this game for me is Mike Patton doing some voice work. I know nothing else about it though.

1.) SCII
2.) Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures
3.) Grand Theft Auto IV
4.) Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (I cant justify purchasing this as Lucas Arts has had a niche for putting out 1 out of 5 good products...)
5.) Halo Wars ... It sounds interesting, from what little I've heard and been able to determine.

No, I dare not place Fallout 3 upon my list... Were beth to have a better track record with their products I might. Were it not for the countless reasons this will be yet another failure of theirs, I might. If they did business in a somewhat honest and ethical manor... But why continue restating the obvious eh? Thats my list for the year 2008.

You can't say you're not curious? I know I'll be disappointed but I gotta play it.

BTW forgot about Halo Wars, I'm definitely picking it up.

Its not so much the voice acting I care about, personally I would have been happy with a professional voice actor than someone from a band I never listen too, but the game really looks fun and that is something I can't say about most games on the moment.

As for Fallout 3, in the past I never had any good words for it and hope it will be the last in this new direction Fallout is being forced but I will probably try it when its available at the library.

Last I heard there were no gameplay videos for the game...
Patton did a great job in Darkness. He has an amazing voice.

Well I just saw that little trailer on the Bionic Commando site which looks nice.
As for the guy, really nothing against him, I just have never heard his voice.

What can I say, I like DoW, it's one of the few games that I've bothered to chase down some expansion mods (DoW XP) and maps to expand it further and make it even more fun to play.

And I have seen far worse posts / sayings than mine as far as geekiness is concerned :P

I refuse to support that kind of content. What will developers and marketers alike learn if consumers purchase their products regardless? My money would be better spent on a Barbie video game than Fallout 3.

Well here is another one.....anyhow....

1. Starcraft 2 (Hell it IS 'bout time)
2. Fable 2 (perhaps....with any luck (parenthesis within parenthesis) (Peter isn't as big of a moron as he has been (hopefully) acting) </massiveamountsofparenthesis>
3. Age of Conan (looks fun)
