Mr.Wolna's Fallout Tools- A Frontender for Fallout CLI Tools

Mr.Wolna

Hi,
I am planning a frontender for Fallout, with you can do all your convert work easily with a tool. I think this will help a lot of modder!

http://www.falloutnow.de/fn/index.php?topic=3320.0

So what you think about it? Because i need the copyright to use the CLI's.
More CLI's = more compatibility of my Frontender.

So please authors can i use your tools for my package?

Of course always when an user will use my tool, there will be a message when you convert with the name of the author, and also in the credits. I think the FO community is easy to that, but i wanted to ask, for no no problems.

When you do not like the Name of the tool, i can make a compomisse and renamed it to NMA Fallout Tools, cause most of the Authors are from here!!!

So please ask in this thread and say your opinion.

waz up? nobody intrested in a multiptool gui for al those FO CLI Tools?

That'S very pitty :(

Please don't double post, give people time to read your post, not everyone checks the forum everyday (especially on the weekend). It's at least the second time I've seen you do this.

/end mean ogre mode

On the bright side it could be a useful idea to make a front end for the various command line tools, a lot of people seem to have problems using them and it would really help any newbie modders. So it's a good idea :)

Nice idea - DOS feels horribly crippled compared to the unix shells I'm used to. It would be better to try contacting the authors directly than waiting for them to notice and post here.

waht you think?
Well, maybe you should make the GUI bigger and you may attach your photo to it, so each time someone will use the tool will be watching at you...

"Mr.Wolna's ...something..."
"Mr.Wolna is watching you!"
"Mr.Wolna is everywhere!"

The idea is good but I would change the name cause I think it can confuse people I mean they could easilly think that you made the converters.

Make some space for showing messages /captured from the CLI tool/ - you don't want newbie modders to click the button again and again and see no result if something crashes. Also, you might consider adding some help - like image size etc.

I wouldn't put spr to FRM in the list, it not really a program but a big ass batch file.

Instead all SPR2GIF and maybe FRMCAT

Download the latest version of the SPR2FRM I made and open up the batch file, I'm sure your front end can replace it and do a neater job (I'm not a programmer so the steps are very repetitive rather than reading the output file names and running against those.) The bat file only works on certain spr files so you could make it work on all spr files probably.

Also include a configuration setting, I know spr2gif has a couple of config files that you could make a front end for that just edits the file.

Good work so far though

Ok i have now an other, much better GUI. Now with an input BOx for the inputfiles, it btter and looks much smarter

Its just the first try but i think at the end it will be look like this:
Think this one looks better then the odl GUI.

Ok i think i got it!!!

Looks very good so far, you might need an advanced parameters section where other options can be specified such as which .pal file to use if you are using a custom palette.

I would still add frm2gif and gif2frm along with spr2gif

yeah i wil do, and i think i wil make a new CLI for frm2bmp, cause the old one is not really good(badconvertation) or is tere an cLi arround like the convertation method, of FrameAnimator?

Not really a Frame Animator equivalent but if you run most of those command line apps with the /? switch if should display the help and any other commands. I think one of them lets you specify the offset information.

I know frm2gif has various options for the output gif file.

Have you looked at the www.teamx.ru website for all their apps?
