Multiplayer problem

A Smooth-Skin
Everytime i try to join a match in gamespy the game freezes. There is a black screen with a grey bar on the lower corner of the screen. I can move my mouse cursor but i cannot exit to windows. :shock:

There isn't any problem when i host a game, but nobody appears. Even when there is people who has pressed the ready key in the launch menu. Any idea of whats going on? Any hints welcome. TIA.

My System: Windows 98, 384 MB, Gforce2 Mx400, asus 750 mhz. Game version is 1.27
 
I have the same problem but last year i cut play now i wanna play again and now it doesnt work its like EyeMaster7 says

Its not that. I had this problem a long time ago.... Are you saying that gamespy does not support fallout tactics anymore?!?!?! :x

Man, Ineptplay is really dead.

1. A pc is the best gaming platform.
2. Why would he buy an xbox if he wants to play FOT online?
3. What do you mean by "alot less trouble"?
4. If you are hinting that he should buy the xbox to play F:POS then...
5. You should have your eyes gouged out and crammed down your throat.

Like I said before Gamespy was not the problem because I had the latest version. And other people were having the same problem. I think it's related to the type of connection because many people who were having this problem had xDSL. And the ISP generally blocks certains ports that are not usually blocked in a typically dialed connection.

I have cable(wee 100 mbps)and i also have a firewall, so every time gspy opens it asks me if i want to allow aphex.exe(gamespy) to access the internet, if i click no something happens similar to you, the screen doesnt display correct and such. Do you have a firewall? If so it might be a very restrictive kind, disable it then try running it. If that doesnt work then i would suggest gettin cable, it is soooo much faster if you get the right kind(DIE AOL)and its about the same price as average dsl.
 
I'm not going to get a cable connection to play fallout tactics. But maybe I'm going to install the game again on this weekend. Someone still plays this game in gamespy???

Actually quite alot of people play it in gspy.

Shame? I played only the single game and I think that FOT is good. 'course it's not a true RPG but it's a good strategy game. And the movies are great. The end sequence is one of the best in
Fallout's history. The robots storming ...... ops!
 
The intros and outros in the Fallout series have always been OUTSTANDING! Won't deny that.

I was referring to gamespy when I said it was a shame. I have never been able to play any game in gamespy. It's laggy (Yeah, I live in a far distant country 8) ) and ...well...simply put, it sucks harder than a 1500w vacuum cleaner.

Well FOT can't even be compared to FO 1 or 2, but it's still quite good in it's own genre. (hmm..genre...oh well.)
 
I think you are right. I play Civ 3 Conquests and I must launch the multiplayer from the game because gamespy is too laggy... weird because I used to play AVP2 a lot at gamespy and I didn't have this lagging problem before (not like that of course, there was lag).

You can convince the master that he and all mutants are sterile using the knowledge you gained from the Brotherhood of Steel data library. In the end he blows himself. So I do not see a point in what he did.

Sure. It has one of the most difficult final boss in the CRPGs. A Nice fellow. :P
