Music issue

Lirio

First time out of the vault
Hi, I've been playing fallout 2 recently but music doesn't play. I've tried following the instruction for the SFX issues, but it doesn't work either. Can you help me with this?
Thanks in advance.

Read all the stickies and follow them, then come back.

By the way, have you checked any and all possible volume levels (including all of windows' volume levels?)

That's the answer I didn't want to see. I SAID I had read the stickies. They didn't help! But nevermind. I guess I'll try to solve it on my own.

start>run

type 'dxdiag' (without the comma's) and go to the sound tab and turn down the sound acceleration a notch...

What part of *all* the stickies and *following* them don't you understand?
I haven't seen a single bit of relevant information except 'I've followed some instructions' (gee, which ones, exactly?)

AFAIK there's only one sticky for tech issues. I'm replying only cause I'm pissed off, I don't think you'll solve this problem.
To Finesse: that's what I tried to do. Didn't work. Thanks anyway.
PS: don't answer.

You're asking for help. Insulting people is not the best way to ask for help

What Sander means is that the Stickies also say this:

the rules said:
1. Specify which game it is and which version. Fallout Tactics and F:POS topics do not belong on this forum.
2. If the problem is crashing, video, sound, or some other technical problem like that, make sure you include your computer specs, OS, DirectX version, relevant hardware, etc. Ask if you need to, but first look at a few technical help requests that do this right for some examples.

You've yet to say:

Which version of Fallout it is
What operating system you're running it on
Your computer's specs, most importantly your sound hardware and any software you may be running that might conflict. and your DirectX version number.

The reason we're not able to help you is because we have absolutely no idea what's going on, because you're not giving us any information. So we can't help you. We'd love to, but for us to help you, you'd have to post the above-mentioned info for us. Ok?

Don't worry, I think it's a corrupt file or something like that. I mean, the music plays in the intro, but not on the game. I'll see what I can do. Don't worry, again. And nevermind.

I solved the problem!!
I don't know why, but the sound-music folder was EMPTY. So I moved in there all the .acm files and it works all fine now. Question is, why the hell where those files in the wrong folder in the first place?
I'm sorry if I was impolite before. I don't know how could this happen, and I was angry.
