[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Jan-24-00 AT 10:57AM (GMT)[p]Well I sent BackIsle an e-mail over a year ago about my ideas for Fallout 3. Here is some of what I suggested.

The new MAIN terror should be Robots. In the Post Apocalyptic SciFi literature it's always been Mutants, Pure Humans or Robots that have been the terror. Since the first two have been done it's time for Robots.

And think of a terror it would be. Something alone the lines of Terminator2. Or how about assasin Androids that mimic Humans ? One could join your group and in the middle of a fight betray you.

Also I wanted the ability to have a Cybernetic character.

As for the setting again the American south west. but on a grander scale. Select locals would be; Area 51 in Nevada, A destroyed Las Vegas, NORAD Command Center in Colorado, Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Hoover Dam, The grand Canyon as well as others.

I also suggested that full parties be allowed rather than you and you NPCs. I suggest the ability to form small squads similar to X-Com. You would then have the ability to have moe than one goup. You'd move only one group at a time and the others would "garrison" a town or base against enemy attack.

And also the posibility of limited mental powers. Nothing too powerful but some sort of useful group of abilities that help (or maybe hurt) the character.

your Ideas for Fallout 3

Robot is emotionless, there is no climax in fighting it, but if what you imagine is kind of the master (he was a human who turned to become Mutant with cybernetic link to all computer-and now he control all kind of robot), i might be agree. But if you fight some crazy AI, like "shodan" in "system shock"...mmmm...i don't know, it just miss some value...but i don't really hate the idea.

what do you meant, devide to 2 squat? that meant you can take full control of NPC, right?

RE: your Ideas for Fallout 3

Yes you'd have complete control of NPCs once you get them to join you.

If an attack occurs and NPCs are present but not with your group then they'd act on their own.

RE: your Ideas for Fallout 3

Full control of your npc's is not a good idea for fallout. Instead you should give orders in combat. These tell them who to attack where to move. But the npc's won't run up to a men 30 hex's away and burst fire him if 10 other people are attacking him. Also you should be able to say things to the whole group eg. You are walking into ncr and your group has guns out. Then you should be able to tell the whoe group to put there guns away. Also you be able to tell them to use melee or range weapons.

You also should be able to lie down, kneel or stand. The way you can kneel down behid a table, pop up take a shot and kneel down again. Change between these would cosy ap. eg. You group is of three is fighting a group of of six enemies that outclss your team. Both are behind cover. Your two npc's are trying to pin down those men. You get a greande ready pull the pin and throw it in where there hiding two are killed in the blast and the four other are in the open. Your team pops up shoot them falls back in to cover. Your greande has taken out there cover. They have to run away or else they will be slaughter by your team. You hit down three of they before the last one escapes.

Also we could see Ranks !

By being part of amilitary force we could also see our characters advance in rank. This would work like the Wander, ect.. ranks of the other Fallouts but would be military in nature.

RE: Also we could see Ranks !

So, maybe you could start out in NCR as a member of the military and go from there.

LM

RE: Also we could see Ranks !

This could work in any group. eg you becoe a made man for a family after three or so quest. After that you are a level 1 made man and to only way to increase the level is doing more mission or killing the familys enemy. At level 10 made man you can kill the boss and become the leader of the family

RE: Also we could see Ranks !

Actually we saw elements of this idea in Fallout 2.

Remember you could join the Brotherhood of Steel, the anti-slaver Rangers, Vault City's defence force, even temporarily the Enclave.

Or you can even learn martial arts by join a group in San Fransico or how about as a member of a gang (not gansters but the groups in the wasteland) or how about even as a pirate off the West Coast ?

just imagine each of these organizations having some kind of hierarchy and you have the ability to advance up in rank and ability.

I like the robot-idea but not the thing about the mental powers.

Hello, William

hello...william, long time no see...hehehe :-)

*Sigh*

No wonder they didn't reply.

Do your suggestions embody ANYTHING about what Fallout is? Geez, why don't we add mechs too? Hell, we could have the Death Star too!

I mean really, have you even PLAYED Fallout? The game takes place in a retro-50's post nuclear fallout. The whole world in Fallout isn't much different technologically than it is now and now you want ROBOTS taking over the world?

They say that there are no bad ideas, but I beg to differ.

My Idea

Like many great games, it has a sequeal that tells what happened before everything was destroyed by the A-bombs.

The setting would be diffently some sort of world war theme. Where the is almost out of raw resources and the U.S. are currently seizing more land like Canada but this ticked off the Russians and Chinese. Then someone from the enemy lines sneak in one of U.S. Bases and st off the atomic bomb leading to world destruction.

The main character would be a U.S. millitary grunt who encounters this Mysterious enemy who set off the bomb. Knowing that the world would end. The grunt rushes to tell everyone. Then he quicly lead a group of people into Vault 13 closes to his base. The end. (My idea isn't fully detailed, but if you want to hear more e-mail me at Shinoki@yahoo.com)

It's nice knowing that you do know how to make proper use of the language. Would you mind keeping it up? All the abbreviations and shorthand was starting to annoy me. Besides, this make you look more intelligent. Oh, and please don't take this message as an insult, it's not meant like that.

RE: I have to say

hahaha
i wont!
its jus when i talk in proper english 2 me i sound posh, and i hate that... but ill try 2 keep it 2 a minimum!
lol

Posh!? That's a load of brahmin dung. The way you write now you look like an idiot (note: I'm not calling you an idiot). I truly believe people will take your posts more seriously if you use proper English. I've found myself skipping over your posts because you're making them hard to read. I always try to use proper english and no one ever told me it sounded posh.

Well... robots may seem a little farfetched, but...

Maybe the U.S. was experimenting in AI technology, and something went horribly wrong. Maybe it turns out that this supercomputer was actually responsible for setting off the bombs in the first place! And it's survived all this time, lying in wait for humanity to seep out of the cracks, only to destroy it once again! Kinda like the Matrix, Terminator, only different. The computer wouldn't have limitless supplies of mechanical henchmen, but maybe convinced or bio-engineered servants. Like, promised humans asylum, or power and money, in exchange for helping the computer destroy the world. Maybe your quest is to shut down the computer in order to save humanity. Stupid idea, but oh well.

Thanks for letting me rant and rave...
