myron dies in end game credits!?!? what's up with this?!

okay, i'm new to this message board and you can probably tell from my other posts that myron is my favorite fallout 2 character. (maybe i'm a freak or something, i don't know). anyway, i just beat fallout 2 today for the first time, and myron dies in the ending credits! WTH?? (he gets stabbed to death a year later by some jet addict in den). how can they (the people who made the game) do this! you can't just kill off a person after the game is over!

anyway... i wanted to know if anyone else who had myron knows if there is a way so that he doesn't die in the end. because you know how different choices in the game affect the end credits outcome.

man, how come all my favorite characters (android 17 from dragon ball z, ted from the book sphere) are always the expendable ones...?

Myron died because he was a great asshole.
i hate him he is such a loser.
And i kill him every time.
he was probably killed because he went upp to the addict and said:
"Eyhhh get out off my way you fillty drunk."
i was happy that he died.
but that is my opinion i have allways killed him exsept off once.
 
i think maybe i figured out why he died. the end game sequence is different for everyone because they make diffent choices, right? well, i figured i must have done something wrong to get the myron dying thing at the end of the game. i think it's because i had childkiller on my karma, so as a punishment one of my players bit it.

but this is only a speculation...

OR perhaps because he is just an asshole.
I think u should try to post it in the F2 Disscusion forum where it should have been.(PS NOT trying to be a mod)
perhaps u will learn some more there.
 
I didn't get the karmatic perk but Myron still died. I think it depends on how you talk to him. I never took him into my party, either.
 
That is what happens to Myron after the game. And it's final no way you can change it. This is an additional ending for those who keep Myron alive. I thought it was kind of Ironic that he was stabbed by a jet addict. Try to keep other players alive and see what you get in the End. I got Marcus ending. And Harolds though I'm not sure how I got it. One stat point could spell the difference.
 
I have completed F2 countless times (not boasting, I have too much free time), and have never seen him live. It was probably their way of showing that drugs don't work. Probably some legal thingy they have.

well... i guess it makes sense... sort of. i just think it's stupid that one of your characters can die after the game is over. especially when you can't prevent it. 'cause i liked myron. oh well... :'(

You got Marcus ending? How?! I have "beated" Fallout 2 (and 1) many times and never got any Marcus endings.
 
Please do tell cause I never got any ending for an individual character??? I beat the game several times and it never mentions anybody in specific.

Well. I think one main reason Myron dies is due to Karma. Myron was making drugs to enslave people, basically. Look at Redding, all the miners there are addicted. If you don't get the antidote to Redding, New Reno takes it over at the end.

Why is Myron doing this? Well, because the Mordinos send him hookers every now and then.

Basically, Myron gets what he deserves. The fact a Jet Addict does him in.. That's Karma.

He's annoying
he's pathetic
he's a little boy
he's got a big mouth that dr.death has to take care of (ME)
the only reason to have him is if your party if a party of gits, (which isn't a bad thing,i like it), but if this is the case he's not even slightly evil, he lets the evil side down.
 
I would also like to know... I have completed FO2 ~15 times with a variety of characters, and the only specific ending I remember is for Myron (for the times I didn't suck his brain out in Sierra for the fun of it MUHAHAHAHA*cough*).
I have too much free time, don't I?

That's exactly the reason I think he got killed in the end. You might have noticed that the addicts in the Den attack you for no apparent reason at times. Myron got attacked at random, but did not know how to defend himself and got the smackdown laid on his candy a--.
 
ooooh, oooh, i've something to say about that!

hey, i figured out how to get myron to fight better. if you give him about 3 jet antidotes he becomes a heck of a lot better. he won't miss in combat anymore, and his strength is way up.

just thought you all might like to know...

The only way that I didn't get the Myron ending was by not going to the stables at all. BTW, what Harold ending?

Here is something to try, but I am not 100% sure if this will work in your game(it depends on the choice you make).
1. Try to "give" Redding to someone else other than New Reno, by selling the chip to the other mine owner or by doing the jet cure quest from VC doctor.

2. Try helping out the other families to take out the Mordino family. You can name the Mordino as the one who poisoned the Wright kid and give them the SAD weapons. You can also try to get the ending where your children(if you slept with the Bishops) took over New Reno.
As for other ending variations, you can e-mail me for specifics because there are too many to mention here.

Thinking, how could Myron get stabbed to death. When I left him he had Hardened Power Armour on him at top level. (I kinda did that to every NPC and had an area in San Fran where they all where). Surely hes not that dum to have a knife though his armour.

I would also think that Marcus would have stayed with him, since in game Marcus seems to really like him and kinda acts as his bodyguard.

That Brings up another thing......what happened to all ur buddys? did Sulik find his sister? where did Skynet piss off to? did vic set up a repair shop in New Reno? what the hell did goris do all by himself and his clan dead? or did they all live with you in your nice little town thanks to the GECK and "lived happely ever after"
