Remake of the Machurian Candidate?
 
I always thought it was bullshit as well that they were afraid to introduce China as an enemy (although I think it just as silly that the PRC would have the military experience and capabilities to launch an invasion of the US).

If anything I might use some kind of Pan Arab or Multi-country coalition along the lines of Escape From LA, where the rest of the world got tired of our bullshit and unitedly declared war.

Handling invasions from Canada Mexico and attacks on our western and eastern seaboard sounds like a nightmare.
 
Red Dawn 2 was made with the North Koreans as bad guys because we didn't want to hurt the feelings of the Chinese.

Didn't see Home Front? North Korea invades the US? I think alien invasion is more believable.
