Ok, heres the skinny. My computer specs are as follows.

Pentium 4 2.4ghz Single Core.

1GB DDR 233 Ram.

10 GB hard-drive space. <Yeah>

Radeon 9800 XT AGP 8x.

Within these specs, I'm look for a preferably Single-Player experience that I can immerse myself in for the next few weeks before the money comes in, that can run comfortably on my system.

Games I've already played.

Deus Ex.

All the Fallouts.

System Shock 1-2.

Neverwinter Nights "All of them"

Kotor 1-2

Planescape :Torment:

Baulders Gate 1-2

Max Payne 1-2

Jedi Knight 1-2-3-4

Return to Castle Wolfenstien.

Doom 1,2,3.

Half-Life 2, with mods.

X-Com 1-Infinity

All the Command and Conquers

All the games Blizzard has produced.

All of the Close Combats.

Ect.

What I need is help from you guys to suggest titles for games I haven't tried yet that are worth the time. Thank you for your cooperation.

The Witcher is getting a lot of love this year. I haven't played it myself, but it might be right up your alley. Strong storytelling, choice and consequence, great RPG overall. You should just be able to squeek by with those specs.

With those specs, you're going to suffer a lot through The Witcher. Be 150% sure you want to buy and play it; you're gonna need that extra 50% when the game starts crashing.

I have similar specs (and a similar gaming portfolio) and have decided to give the following games a try:

Gothic I, II & III
Divine Divinity
Titan Quest
w/Immortal Throne
Fable
Sacred
w/Underworld
Temple of Elemental Evil*

Out of those, I can fully recommend Gothic since I'm having a very good time. After you get used to the awkward controls and explore a little, you'll start having lots of fun. By the way, go for Silent Storm if you haven't. It's quite entertaining, at least until the Panzerkleines start showing up.

*: I'll go vanilla for my first time around. I didn't like the Co8 mods one bit, it includes WAY too much lameness.

Fable is pretty light on sys specs, I had a rig not dissimilar to yours which ran it fine. Fable also is extremely enjoyable, despite what Khohrn and other naysayers may tell you.

I suggest The Neverhood ;)

Didn't see Arcanum on your list, so give it a whirl if you didn't just forget to include it. Vampire: Bloodlines too. You should be able to run it, after all it's on the Source engine.
Also The Legacy of Kain series (excl. Blood Omen 2) packs some decent single single player punch, but I don't know if you'd like them. Most are a bit too platformer/action for the list you've got, but Blood Omen 1 might tickle your fancy. (It's my favorite platformer/action series and I have to plug it somewhere, ok?!)

Icewind Dale is to much of a Deja Vu of Bauldrs Gate when I tired it, so I guess Fable for PC deserves a rerun. I don't know the differences between the Xbox version and the PC one, so I might as well check it out.

There is no way in hell I'm going to be able to play the Witcher...If by squeek, you mean bite down on a ball-gag to relieve the frustration of running through the game with all settings on low, with a 5-10 FPS rate. It does sound like a nice way to get my masochistic emotions turned on....

Ill check through fable and Arcanum, but I'm really tired of fantasy settings...

Thank you guys, and when I say thank you, I mean... don't stop with suggestions.. keep on going so you get more thank yous...

*Edit* Okay, i found this comment on youtube when looking up stuff for Arcanum "the best crpg on earth , better than fallout!"

I feel like I have been challenged to a duel... I have to check it out now.

ice wind dale's sucked, they were pretty much dungeon crawlers, ice wind dale 2 was a 60 hour dungeon crawler.

i always say play age of empires 2 if you like stratagy, i havnt played the third, divine divinity and beyond divinity wernt horrible games but they were a bit dull, seige of avalon was a good rpg and nox wasnt bad.you could always play half life 1 + mods if you havnt, i played it a couple months ago and found it rather enjoyable.

Icewind Dales? Caesar 3? Civilizations?

Civilization 3 should work brilliantly (well, to a point) on your machine, and Caesar 3 will too. Try them, along with Pharaoh, and Zeus :)

Your HDD is going to give you trouble. Some games need a lot of cache space.

If you like TBS or RTS, give these a whirl:

Age of Wonders (If you can find it, trying to locate a copy of it is freaking hard these days)

Dominions 3 (Fun but bloody expensive and has a learning curve that resembles Everest if you have never played the games before)

Age of Empires 2 (I know it's been mentioned, but I second it)

Galactic Civilizations 2(Spacey type RTS, build up your planets, alignment changing choices, and a universe to either subvert or conquer)

Alpha Centauri (Many dislike the game as it veers away from the roots of Civilization, but I happen to enjoy this game, give it a shot if you want)

Dawn of War (Fun and definitely has re-playability, get the DoW XP mod pack for even greater customization and closer to canon rules for the miniature system.)

Metal Fatigue (Giant customizable robots called Combots and 3 levels that you can be attacked from at any given time, keeps you hopping even on a normal opponent)

For FPP and FPS games try:

Freedom: First Resistance (Sadly a slightly buggy game but one of the only attempts I know of to turn one of Anne McCaffrey's books into a game.)

Call of Duty 2(I enjoyed playing the single player mode and the multi-player isn't bad for LAN games but I haven't dared go into the net lest it soil the experience)

Adventure Games:

Sam & Max Season One (Yep, they made another one, however the printers made a quirky disk, it works great in older drives, but some drives just don't like the disk, go figure.)

some old games :

Requim
American McGee's Alice
Blood 1,2
SIN
Rune

If you are into adventure games :

The Longest Journey
Dreamfall : The Longest Journey
Monkey Island 3
Blade Runner
Grim fandango

If graphics aren't a concern to you and you jsut want an old school great rpg, I suggest the avernum or exile series from spiderweb software.
amazing games, and have managed to stand the test of time for me.

Avernum is buttfuck ugly, and has furry PCs.

exile was better without a doubt, but the ui is better in avernum.
exile 3 is my favorite, followed by avernum 2, and then avernum 1. exile 1 and 2 were a bit annoying to control, and avernum 3 deviated too far from exile 3 to be as good.

Meh, I preferred exile 2 myself, took one look at Avernum and just shook my head.

Ticked me off however when they changed the tilesets to exile 3 when they released it, I'm not fond of the exile 3 tiles...

Myth II Soulblighter,
finest realtime tactics game
gives the typical fantasy setting a gory and dark style (grumpy molotov cocktail throwing dwarves, head-collecting monkey-like ghouls, exploding kamikaze zombies)
nice convincing narrative between missions
decent story for this type of game
shows what wonders Bungie is capable of besides milking out their MS backed incredibly overrated FPS franchise

Fuck I had completely forgotten everything about that game.

Indeed.
The Myth games were how Bungie got popular.
You know... before Halo.

Amazing games though, and the editor is terrible fun.
