Need some very basic help ~ Fallout New Vegas

Hi,

I need help in figuring out how to tell how many HP certain things will give me.

So, for instance, the Sunset Sass says HP +2(25s). I thought this meant it will heal 2 HP over the course of 25 seconds. Well, it gave me 6 or 7 HP. They don't tell you in the little booklet that comes with the game how to read that pip boy info.

+2HP/second for 25 seconds/bottle.

EDIT: Also I suppose you already know this, but the bar in the HUD tells you the HP more like in percents. To see your full HP check the pip-boy (stats, upper left corner IIRC).
 
Thanks for the response! I guess there is something I'm just plain missing still though (in addition to my brain)... wouldn't +2 HP a second for 25 seconds give me 50 HP, not 7?
 
Unless you're looking at the PIP Boy, the bars on your HUD don't correspond to one HP each. If the PIP Boy only says 7 HP... maybe you were attacked while trying to heal? Or could be a bug.
 
On the PIP Boy the sass says +2HP (25s). I count how many bars on my HUD go up and it goes up by 7. Clearly I'm not understanding how it works, and for the love of pete I cannot seem to find any reference to how it works, anywhere. One would think that the instruction manual would tell you how to read you PIP Boy.

The actual Hit Points you have are listed on top of the pip-boy screen. The HP bar on the HUD is just for reference and isn't very exact.
