New ammo - game crash.

My experience with this two tools to edit items is that :
F2wedit is more complete, you can do more complex things
Fallout2 ProtoManager is more simple and safe to avoid problems

Yes maybe thats is why i like this more.

You planning to make a mod or only change some stats of items?

I finished Fallout 1 and 2 many times ^^
Now i play just for maximum fun by editing items. I try new routes/approaches of events, i love break the routine or some rules of both games ^^

And you, you have big projects for this games making a new mod or you try new things just for fun ?

Which Fallout you prefer the most, 1 or 2 ?

I will make tests to reproduce this problem, and I will try to upgrade f2wedit to work more safe.
My theory is that the problem can be, when RP is installed in subdirectory, not in main game directory.

Eden21, show the directory tree, where the RP is installed?

In my Desktop i created a folder, i named this folder "GAMES" (i install all my games in this folder)

So, the directory tree is : C:\Users\******\Desktop\GAMES\Fallout 2

I installed FO2 RPU v12 in main game directory like that :
- I downloaded the latest RPU release
- I extracted the archive into the main game directory, overwriting files when asked.
- I launched rpu-install.bat

Then i added in folder "mods" : fo2tweaks, rpu_v12_german, rpu_v12_spanish
After that i edited in my convenience ddraw.ini, f2_res_config, fallout2.cfg and FO2tweaks

The guide i followed... it's my latest installation to play FALLOUT 2 RPU v12 and FALLOUT 1in2, briefly :

____FALLOUT ET TU____

Install FALLOUT 1 anywhere.

Install FALLOUT 2 anywhere.

Install FALLOUT ET TU into your Fallout 2 folder.
The folder structure must look like this: \Fallout2\Fallout1in2\Fallout2.exe
Start the UNDAT.EXE and select the MASTER.DAT file from your FALLOUT 1 installation directory.
If you are using a (pre)release package, UNDAT.EXE can be found in the Fallout1in2 folder.
If you are using the repository, UNDAT.EXE can be found in the Tools\UndatUI folder.
Select the Fallout1in2 folder as extraction target.
Extract the files.
That's it. The game can now be played!

____Fallout 2 Restoration Project, UPDATED____

Download the latest RPU release
Extract the archive into the main game directory, overwriting files when asked.
Launch rpu-install.bat

____FO2tweaks____

Download the latest release.
Unzip into Fallout 2 the archive "mods"
Edit mods/fo2tweaks.ini to enable, disable or fine tune components as you desire.

@Eden21 The Game Original Path is C: ProgramFiles/Blackisle/Fallout2.

And Yes i Like to make a mod change the difficulty that it feels like a real Wasteland, and change and put more items in world, change maps and critters.

Samples... there will be less ammo and stimpaks... Weapons will be stronger so you dont get overpowered and can beat a whole raider group without problems.

I read long time ago some games don't work well if you install them in C: ProgramFiles
So i don't install games in C: ProgramFiles anymore
That's why i created a folder in my desktop dedicated to all the games i install, and all my games works well beside Fallout 2 RPU used with F2wedit

I install the GOG version of Fallout 1 and 2 :

Fallout 1 (Classic) 2.1.0.18 [GOG]
Fallout 2 (Classic) 2.1.0.17 [GOG]

With GOG version the install folder default is /Fallout2, not /Blackisle/Fallout2

What problems you had with GOG version ?

Generally speaking : GOG version of all games is praised to be the better version by majority of people
GOG version = DRM free, often updated to the latest patch, more compatible with recent OS, quick and more simple to install

Tools dont work and the Game crash often or the map loaded failed and many more..

I'm having the same problem, game crashes any time a new map is entered if F2wedit was used along with RPU.

Oddly the new RP items such as Lightsaber don't show up in F2wedit either when RPU is installed but worked fine with original RP 2.3
