I don't see any porn in those pics. And its kind of weird to be asked why I don't have a problem with artwork.

Depends on what you mean by attractive - I'd so have fallen for Mazzy Fentan of BG2 fame (yeah, I know she's a halfling), and the female portraits in Icewind Dale are all babes. Whether they "add something to the game" is also a matter of definition and subjectivity I guess. I'd rather have those IwD cuties to look at than non-cuties, and I don't think that says very much about me as a person.

No, the quality was not the problem, it was the "direction". It seemed a little misplaced.

Yes, I suppose they are better to look at than non-attractive persons, but it annoys me (much moreso than it should do) that their only purpose seems to be (please forgive me if I'm wrong - I'm not intimately familiar with the games) as eye candy.
 
Speaking of games and attractive persons .... in Planescape Torment there are two female characters. They were quite attractive but it wasn't their purpose. I guess they were there to better show multiverse other than show them. Attractive is not equal to shallow.


And little more ontopic.
You could always go on compromise and show some chick in proper armor ... with all critical spots covered etc etc ... but just didn't fully dressed up. Such things happen when you just get up ;)

Hmmm. Generally towards the lower end, but I'm not averse to something larger. (As long as they don't look like balloons or old innertubes.)

Anyway, what were we talking about? Oh yeah, I remember.

It just pisses me off when you get games like DOA Beach Volleyball and the like where they all have EEE cups.

I guess I transfer it across to other games with a little too much prejudice.

DOA Beach Volleyball was a fanservice game to begin with. The entire appeal of the game was to see the big-titty DOA girls in bikinis playing volleyball.

I'm not saying that you're wrong to be angry about such a product, but its a bad example for the unnecessary mammaries in video games today. You know, seeing as how they were a focal point of the game. >_>

I say that sums it up. Is everyone here going to hate the game, refuse to buy it or seriously get aggravated when they see an attractive/overly attractive female or god forbid it male in a video game? No... A fact about life... SEX and violence sells. This is not a concept practiced in a few small corners of the world. This is an accepted form of advertisement throughout much of this world. Lineage2, KOTOR, DiabloII, Longest Journey, HELL even some of the Space Quest series attempted pixilated attractive people. The level of technology has progressed to the point we can design and ogle over both a GREAT game and attractive people in it. I was going to suggest that no one get even more bent out of shape with the concept drawings; seeming, they are that, concept… but then I did so go for it.
