New Fallout 3 Teaser Trailer

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
As you may have noticed, Bethesda has started a new wave of hype because of E3. Today they released a new Fallout 3 teaser for E3. It is now available at Gametrailers.
It's quite short and might remind you of something you've already seen before.

Thanks to Bodybag, Yellow, Jabu and Briosafreak.

For HD quality look here (Thanks Morpheus).

For what it was, I liked it. The speed it zoomed out was kind of different, which I liked too. Made the contrast between safe and comfy TV and the PA environment kind of funny, kind of not, which is a good contrast to have.

But - maybe it's time for something more substantial now...

I agree with this DAC feller.

The first few seconds I didn't like, I didn't like the tv and it seemed too polished. (Again with that terrible shade of green?)

After that, it was pretty friggin good. I liked the car, I liked the vd, I liked the environment. That rubble is some good rubble.

Still, though, with word that there's to be no demo, and trailers still so short, this is pretty light for a game with a release so close. Still no gameplay footage.

Also, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT TIME IT IS BECAUSE I DO

Aslo aslo, http://www.gametrailers.com/player/35601.html for the much nicer looking HD trailer.

Sorry for posting this news so late, I was sleeping. Looks like the others too :)

The PC model is moving too artificially, which kind of breaks all the atmosphere. The landscape is really cool. But the idea of the trailer is clearly taken from Fallout 1. Also it very much looks like the first teaser. The same scenario: first TV (or radio), then zooming out, showing the destruction and then some character.

They've done 2 teasers now. And both try to capture the initial Fallout intro feeling. And both fail. Its like they think:
"This is pretty cool, lets do something similar, but still make it our "own"."
And lets face it, Bethesda is not skilled enough to make anything their "own" look good. Only parts that look good are the ones they ripped straight from the originals.
Witch I think is basically the whole problem with Bethesdas design policy (or Todds). Their obsession of making it their "own".
Sorry guys, that train left when you bought someone elses IP and decided to make, not a spin-off, but a sequel.

I havent gotten the feeling of "they get it" from any of their teasers. They did the burnt rubble well? Sure, if thats all your looking for in Fallout.

If your goal was to recreate the snapshot from the FO1 intro with the pan out from the television, what would you have done differently with this 20 second teaser to make it good?

I don't know... overall the trailer is surely nice.
But then again my mind is saying that there are 'bad' things.
"Super Duper Market"
"Sugar Bombs" I don't think that's so damn funny...
Sure the working tv makes no sense, but i'm okay with that, while i really don't get why the couch and the other seat have to be intact. Especially while all other things are rotting (Skeleton) around them... I somewhat dislike that.. But yeah.
What really got me somewhat is the wind-wheel wich seems to have be build in a ddistance to the house that it would have crushed into it, when truning in the wind... but okay...

Graphical i don't know... Not up to par with the newest FPS i would say...

I'm really too critical i think...

Only thing I don't like is "Super Duper Market" which I find quite terrible, and for some reason I don't dig the skeleton in the couch.

Nicely done otherwise, and I really liked the choice of music. However, it really is fucking time to get some actual gameplay videos out there.

"Super Duper Market"... Yeah, that's Bethesda style right there... Just fucking stupid. Other than that it was pretty good, but it's not like they could do much wrong when copying the exact same thing we've seen in the originals.

"Super Duper Market", "Six Pack of Nukacola", "Sugar Bombs" ok, what's the next one ?

"Special this week, G..... Supplies" Any ideas ?

An there's even a last one, which is very very small. Made some screenshots, used a classic zoom, can't see anything, who cares anyway ?

The graphics looks better than in the first trailer, objects does not seem to be "out of the scene" and there are many. Some are hard to notice as well. Nice landscape, good view distance. Not very impressive but nice.

edit : anyway, this trailer is kinda useless one year after the first one.

And in the first teaser. I mean really, what the hell is the point of this teaser?? (rhetoric, I know it's all about the hype...)

Yeah, it's oddly similar to the first teaser trailer (which is the intro I think?). Still, this is just a tease of the E3 trailer right? So I guess (hope) there will be more in that version.

I just rewatched it in the HD version. The surroundings look great, but wow, the TV looks *really* out of place.

I give it a 50. Doesn't show much, but I did like the jingle in the beginning.

There's not enough of a 'dark' feeling to the bit. In Fallout, when they zoomed out from the screen and you saw ruins, you'd feel pinpricks all over your body, and a chill running down your spine. This, didn't have that effect. :?

Reasonably insubstantial in my eyes, but I like the little addition of a box of Mentats on the right of the TV.

You've got to admit that this game looks pretty good

Jeez...

It looks average at best.

i know there's a whole lot to hate about fallout 3, but other than "super duper" which didn't really make me laugh, this looked amazing. to think the whole game will look like this is absolutely incredible. bethesda said "we do what we do best", and they are right. although this game will be hated for many thing because it won't be true to fallout, but as a game on it's own, it will have some things which will make it a whole lot more than average. fallout1-2 incredible dialogues didn't make the inventory comfortable, and fallout 3's bad dialogues(probably) and first person view won't make the graphics and scenery look bad, and draw a lot of "what if".
