New Fallout Files

Yeah, I'm behind a firewall here at work. I'll try later after work, or we could set up a ftp.. I got 10Mbit internet access at home, so speed isn't a problem for me :D

Sure. Here's some technical release notes... I didn't build the pack from (all of) your files but rather according to the modder's instructions.

Base File -> 1.3 Polish
Patch 1 -> 1.31 Polish Patch (downloaded from Poland)
Converter -> Polish to English Patch
Patch 2 -> 1.32 English Patch

This, AFAIK, is how its really supposed to be done to get the "official" 1.32 English version. Then I took my clean new ./awaken directory and used Inno Setup to make the installer.

Also, I think it is either unfinished or has bugs? I'll be damned if I can figure out how to join the BOS. Instead I have to take the evil SOA path and thats as far as I have gotten. I started clean, went to the BOS, got the "Free the scribe" quest, did it, entered the base, and they don't want to talk to me. The high elder loads a barter screen as if he wants some quest item but I have no idea what that could be. It would be nice if they would at least say "You're not worthy" or something because the silent treatment is pretty shitty. At least somebody should talk to you after you gain access to the base.

Anyways I'm a typing fool in case you didn't notice, don't expect any short posts from me.. this mod still rocks even if it is unfinished and/or buggy. I have to say that I have gotten at least an original Fallout1 amount of fun from it so far.

I have a lot of respect for the modders from Poland that made this great work. I applied the editor license to the mod, since it covers derivative works, to protect the modders as best I could and make this mod legit. Poland has different (c) laws and stuff so the editor license seemed appropriate. With any luck it will be / would be blessed by those corporate laywers and all that, especially since it is a booster to whet your appetites for Fallout3.

Right now, I'm back to FO2, I had to give up the A7N8X to my wife and let her play some Doom3 :-). So I'm over on the old PII-333 and playing FO2 for shits and giggles and posting this here long winded message. There is no way Tactics will run on this old machine but it runs FO2 like a champ. I was gonna install FO1 but I can't find the damn cdrom... grr,.. I have it here somewhere.

I'm going to write a (Guiler style) FAQ / Walkthrouh for Awaken. This way we can document bugs and document things that we know. I really do like playing the old school Fallout type missions in the CTB mode provided by Tactics because it saves tons of time if you set it up right. I actually like CTB mode and I use it all the time except for those reallly nasty battles where you are engaged as soon as you enter the sector.

Well, thats waay tooo much text for this silly post but thats what you get. Email the FTP upload to me >nospam<.bdhilton@atlanticbb.net and I will sent in on in.

- Whoa!!! Looks like I took a little too much off the top!

I've uploaded it to NMA now, so you can take it down from your site. Good job!
