New Let's Play; Douchebag Melee Class

virapp1612

First time out of the vault
Hi all! I'm starting a new let's play and I'd love for you guys to come check it out. I will be playing the game heavily modded and with a few restrictions set:

- Very hard difficulty
- Melee weapons only, no thrown, explosives or guns
- Pick every [censored] dialogue option possible
- No companions

It's not going to be a challenge run but I like the idea of my second playthrough to be much harder than my first was. It was way too easy to one-shot every enemy in the game with a sniper rifle from across the map. With these restrictions I hope to increase the difficulty and make the gameplay overall more enjoyable.

Also, I've never played an evil character and I've never interacted with the Legion or Powder Gangers so I'll be experiencing these faction quests and the evil dialogues for the first time.

The mods I'll be using are:

- Enhanced Shaders
- Advanced Desert Ranger Helmet
- Advanced Recon Riot Gear Helmet
- Advanced Recon Stealth Gear
- Advanced Recon Thermal Nightvision
- Armored Bounty Hunter Duster
- Black Leather Armored Duster
- CASM with MCM
- Centered 3rd Person Camera
- Clint Eastwood Ensemble
- Darn's UI
- Electro-City
- Essential Visual Enhancements
- Fallout: New Vegas Redesigned 2
- Hectrol Duststorm HiRes Retexture
- I Got Spurs
- JaySuS Rogue Ranger Coats
- Lucky 38 Suite Reloaded
- Mission Mojave Ultimate Edition
- Nevada Skies URWL
- NMC's Texture Pack for New Vegas (Small)
- One HUD
- Perk Every Level
- Quick Trade
- Mod Configuration Menu
- Weapon Mod Menu
- Unified HUD Project
- Vegas Strip Markers
- Waster's Scarf
- Weapon Mods Expanded
- Weapon Retexture Project

Basically this mod set will enhance the game aesthetics, provide for a smoother menu system, add new sleek light and medium armor sets, change the Lucky 38 Suite and add some minor additions to the map and trade system.

Anyways, these are the parameters and extensions I have added to this let's play and I hope you'll enjoy it as much I *hopefully* will.

Please note: The first episode of the series does not accurately represent the rest of it. The first episode was my "Pilot Episode" where I got a feel for my surroundings and troubleshooted some mods I had installed. Also, I did make some mistakes in the first episode, such as leaving my microphone on during the introduction, f***ed up the contrast, flickering the shaders on and off, and overall mic disturbances which won't be happening in later installments.

One last thing: if you have any tips or questions for me please post it here or as a comment on the video.

Melee only in New Vegas? Why would you do that to yourself?

Uh? Melee is good in New Vegas, especially if you mix thrown weapons and poisons in the mix.
Yeah the legion's broad machete works pretty well most of the time

With Super Slam!, almost any decent melee weapon wrecks everything. With insane attack rate weapons like the War Club or the Katana, you get several chances per second to trigger the I Win effect. Toss in crit multipliers and chems (I mean, Turbo! Really now...) losing becomes a challenge.

I can't imagine playing fnv anymore without Project Nevada on the mod list. The balancing alone can help make for a more interesting play through.

Being able to throw off the shambles of needing lock pick alone is a life saver.
