New Metalheart interview

HomeLAN decided to interview Alexander Shcherbakov (pr at Akella) for more info about Metalheart: Replicants Rampage, and here's an interesting snibblet:
HomeLAN - How are the quests handled in Metalheart?

Alexander Shcherbakov - You got the storyline. That’s the main part. Talk to somebody, do this, go there, think for yourself, get the information and lots of other things. All defined by the plot. But of you want to start the exploration of the game’s world, just to walk around, do the things, well, you’re welcome. For this case we have additional quests, made by quest generator. These quests are less sophisticated, more straightforward (it’s obvious), but the variety is impressive. Quest generator can produce about 14.000 different quest, so just talk to appropriate person, get it and move on.
I'm still not sure how I feel about quest generators tho, especially if the quests are so similar then it would only lessen the joy of playing the game.

Yeah, but 14.000 different quests! 14.000! Think about all the xp you can gather that way. Shoot this guy, steal that thingie, ... awesome.

Anyway: are there any games out there (already released) that use a similar "quest generator"? Because I wouldn't know (don't play that many games, actually). Maybe I'm just being naive. Maybe them quests would indeed become quite tiresome and similar.

Daggerfall. That game had random quests, and about a zillion different places to get them in a randomly generated world. Massive game.

propably like those mmorpg quest generators... but those quests suck big ass.... I prefer if developers just do a hundred hand made quests than write a script for 14k

I think this game sounds awesome. The quest generator could either be really good, like it was in Daggerfall, or it could blow fat chunks everywhere. The game just sounds really cool.
