New premade chars

Just thought I update a bit. The progress is still slow, since I'm still discovering new stuff and fighting basic problems, but nevertheless I am happy with how it's going on. All what you see here is working - stats get loaded and saved, re-calculated automatically depending on the base stats (unless you've checked the "Lock" box), etc. Hit Point (and other derived stats up to Critical Chance) modifications only work for pre-made characters, so the HP field gets disabled if you select "Default" character type. The values in parentheses after HP field are base (calculated) and modifier values - when the character gets loaded, the first one is calculated by the game (although it is saved in the file), and then the modifier is applied (which can be negative - if you want a character with 10 ST, 10 EN, but only 1 HP, you can have it). The values in parentheses after Character Points are just visual representation - CP have no base or modifiers, they are written (and read) in the file as they are entered. Character's name can be up to 32 characters as opposed to 11 char limit in Fallout character editor.

Looking good Shadowbird.

When you've got something nearing the ready stages, I'll be happy to help put it through a battery of testing and whatnot if you need -and I'll want to DL the finished product certainly in any case. :)

Did I read right above that you're going to make this program usable for both FO1 and FO2, or did I read something wrong?

Of course it's for both Fallout and Fallout 2. The only difference is skill maximum and extra 4 empty bytes in the file. I've run in to some serious problems with tagged/untagged skill value differences + I have other things like school, etc., so it might take a while. I had a few free days when I started FCC, so the progress was fast, but now my free time's getting shorter, and that will most definetly slow down any work.

Sex Appeal/Night Person would be another difference, if only in the presentation (don't modify any numbers prior to starting the game).

Is it not an ability to create an new pre made char by making a whole new char and the
save the sheet and replace it with the
other .cfg (whathever) with the one you made
and then just edit the BIO in notepad???
