New utils

Perceptron

First time out of the vault
I just have noticed where are not much utils in download section here, at NMA.
I think a couple of updates is a good idea.
Well, some time ago Anchorite (TeamX) create a very useful util for packing/unpacking DAT files: DAT2. It's a command line program, but it's easy to register it for a MultiARC plugin in FAR file manager (just append an info from Custom.ini.fragment file to the end of the far\plugins\multiarc\formars\Custom.ini file). The same plugin exist for a Total Commander.
Program can pack whole directory in the dat file.
Another program by Anchorite is FON viewer. As you understand, it intend for viewing FON font files.
Fallout Graphics Viewer, aka Viewer by Jab can view FRM, FR0-FR5, RIX, MVE files. Program have friendly user interface, files can be associated with this program for easy viewing.
DAT Browser by Sergio 2000 - utility for easy browsing DAT-file (playing MVE, viewing RFM, MSG) without extracting whole DAT.
Mod Runner by Dims - DAT Manager (modified version of MOD Maker) - utility for easy running mods (like FAME - Fallout Mod Enabler).
GUI for avi2mve converter by Tehnokrat - friendly interface program to make your own MVE. Use in addition to ABel's avi2mve (040919).
ACM-Plugin for Winamp version 1.2 beta by ABel.
Mapper by Dims version 0.99. The last update of this legendary program. New features:
- Added buttons for viewing all 6 variants of blockers
- Added possibility to turn criiters with Ctrl-Arrows
- Added mode for viewing all stop-blockers (for checking walls integrity)
- Comfortable swithing between drawing objects mode and selecting objects mode (Right Click)
Critters FrmID converter by Wasteland Ghost (TeamX). It was designed to use along with Mapper by Dims. It converts first part of critter FRM file name (in example: hanpwr) to FrmID and vice versa.
F2 City Maker by Finsternis - a GUI program to easy register your own city in Maps.txt, City.txt and Map.msg.
Prototype Editor version 0.8 alfa by KIA. PRO files editor with graphics interface.
M2 city patch by B@ZiK - remove "49 locations limit" for mapper.
255 maps patch by olegmmm. If you look at maps.txt, you will find 150 entries with locations descriptions. In mapper2 where is a limit of 160 maps to register in maps.txt. This patch change this limit to 255 maps.
Well, thats enough for this moment...

Good work Perceptron. When "Utilites" page would be updated?

BTW, Dims are back. He now asking for features to be included into the new version of Mapper. Have any suggestions?

On next week, I guess.

Wow! :o Great news! It must be posted on TeamX forum.

Fallout II Savegame Cracker v2.1.1. by McFly - inventory and character editor, can edit GVAR values in saves. To switch to English language, click on right bottom button of the interface window.

P.S. All above can be entitled: "From TeamX with love".

Just wanted to let you know: the "Utilities" section on the TeamX website is now updated.

The highlights would probably be:

The F1 Dat Explorer – a program for unpacking F1 DAT-files with a graphic interface.

The LIP Editor - intended for creating LIP-files (files required for
synchronizing mimicry and the speech of "talking heads").

This is awesome, like Falche on steriods. Also it possibly makes the old inventory editor completely redundant. The English interface isn't 100% done though, and if possible, it would be good to have the "change language" button use the one you're not currently using.

It would be nice if stats could be broken down into "starting value", "permanent changes" and "temporary changes", as the game seems to be keeping track of them. Similarly the display of skill values could possibly be broken down into original value, static trait/perk affects, tag affect and in-game increase. Not in the regular display perhaps (a bit cluttering), but if you pressed a magic button.

Hmm... I wonder if I'm the one who's supposed to maintain the modding file section?

I'll update the download section tomorrow, right in the middle of something else right now. Thanks for letting us know!

Uploaded them all now, we had some of these only some of those we had were a little older.

I'll go though the TeamX util list later on and upload those that we don't have, as our aim is to have it all :D

BTW, sorry for my awful english.
Thanks for letting us know!
You are welcom. NMA is great project, so you really must have all this utils.

2 Per: I'll inform to the author.

FON Viewer was updated to the FON Editor (Anchorite/Wasteland Ghost).

Can you describe in detail?

The town reputation levels are not translated. Apart from that it's just insignificant things like Intelligence being called Intellect and typographical details, plus the change language button thing that I mentioned.

Fallout II Savegame Cracker by McFly updated to v2.1.3.
Changes:
1. "change language" button use the one you're not currently using.
2. The town reputation levels is now translated.
3. Intellect is changed to Intelligence.
4. Some other changes like above.
5. Fixed a small bug with english interface.

2 Per:
If you'll find other errors, just let me know - I'll look what I can do.

There may be problems with the new version of the savegame cracker; I tried it on a few saves (1.02 UK) and encountered oddities. Level shows up as either equal to your xp or something close to it (xp needed for next level?). Some stats like skill points, melee damage or action points typically show up as very high numbers (hundreds or thousands). Stats are off in some saves (e.g. show up as 1s and 0s) but seemingly normal in others. My trait slots always seem to turn up blank.

Other things:

* "ADS" should more properly be "SAD" in the locations tab.

* The Slave Owner and Virgin reputations aren't used in the game.

* Would be good to make icon loading optional; it takes some 10-15 seconds on my computer and I don't really need the images.

* Would be good to display item quantity in inventory without having to click on the item.

Fixed. See previous link.

Fixed.

But they are exist in SAVE.DAT. It's not so terrible to keep they on.

Maybe late.

* Would be good to display item quantity in inventory without having to click on the item.

Maybe late.

Known problems: Small guns skill is reflected wrong. Sometimes skills become negative in the game.
Huh, I'm really try to fix this.

M2 Override Patch by Generex - Allows the saving of maps in the mapper with override_librarian=1.

I was curious when I read this because the only librarian setting I ever used was librarian=1. Having not tried the override_librarian=1, I was suprised to see a whole new menu of options:

Librarian
- Rebuild Weapons
- Rebuild Proto List
- Rebuild ALL
- Rebuild Binary
- Art => New Protos

What these actually do is not obvious. Does anyone know?
This mapper patch looks VERY useful.

If I make a change to weapon proto, weapons already placed on maps do not change. I suppose that is what "Rebuild Weapons" would do (I hope). Not sure what "Rebuild Binary" or "Art => New Protos" do.

More save cracker antics:

Level, skill points and traits appear to be fixed. However:

* Stats still often at 1 or 0, or much too high.

* AC, healing rate and max hit points too low, while AP and melee damage are usually in the hundreds.

* Tag skills are duplicated and/or erroneous.

* Damage resistances and thresholds, skills, kill categories and perk levels often show up as 0, negative, or in the hundreds or thousands.

* The earlier in the game the save is made the more accurate it seems to be; a save made in Arroyo showed up correctly as far as I could tell.
