New Vegas: Blood Ties

Brad couldn't hear what David was saying. His ears were still ringing from the gun shot. This was definately not a good situation. Brad took back his pistol and clip. He tossed them into his bag and went back to bed. He was feeling useless. Reflecting on what had happened, he realized that he pretty much was useless. He'd done nothing the entire trip but whine about how he was in the Khans and mess things up. From what he gathered, being in the "Enclave" was worse. He decided that he was done leeching off these people and waited for things to calm down.

Later in the night he picked up his bag slowly and silently and walked out the door. He froze when he saw Carib.

(Remember White, Brad is wearing Leather Armor, not khan armor.)

A thin whistle builds pace from the night. Sol strides confidently up to the cabin, and raises both empty palms to Carib and Brad.

Well, fuck. There went ANY chance of sneaking off unnoticed. There was no easy way out of this. Brad decided to play along.

"Uh, hi. Any reason for you just walking right up to us?"

He exclaims in a dramatic voice, "I come... in peace. I am Sol. From North, Ft. Nelson. And you gentlemen...?"

Yasmin ears rang and her ass killed from where she landed on it after propelling herself three feet up in the air somehow without her arms or legs. When her head stopped pounding, she was going to kill Brad. She lay there feeling her eras throb until she felt somebody moving around, since she couldn’t hear. She looked up to see Brad leaving and got up to follow him, cursing and tripping on the random crap strewn on the floor. She walked out to see Brad, Carib and….something.

Yelling, because she couldn’t hear and couldn’t tell she was yelling, Yasmin said, confused “WHO THE HELL ARE YOU? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU? BRAD, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? AND YOU’RE A DUMBASS.”

David sees brad walk out, and then Yasmin. He then hears shouting and decides to take a look outside. He sees the rest of the group, with some creature and just looks at them, confused. He goes back inside, and lies down on his bed, not sure what to make of what was happening.

Carib kept on the man with the palms up, "You know they're are better ways to make yourself known." The Ex-Ranger lowered his carbine and looked to Yasmin and than to David.

Sol grins lazily and nods. "M'lady, Sol at your service. I am a lordless soldier from the norht. Might I entreat upon your company?" He glances around and looks at Carib.

Having made sense of seeing the others with some guy in armour and a load of weapons, David gets up and decides to walk outside. He goes over the group, and says,
"I'm not going to ask who this guy is, because I'm sure you guys have asked that already. I'm just going to give my 2 cents on this. First thing, This guy is using 17th century japanese weaponry, used by the samurai. If you ask me, this guy seems to be some guy whos using the apocalypse to dress up and play samurai. At least I think hes a guy. Which brings to light the next question, what the hell are you?".
Just looking at the thing sent shivers down his spine. His service in the enclave had made him used to the sight of super mutants and ghouls, but this creature was different, and David felt uneasy near him.

Brad was relieved. Since everyone was focused on that...guy, he could slip away, unnoticed. He slowly shuffled out of eyesight from the others and bolted to the exit.

Once outside, Brad counted up his caps from gun runners. He had barely enough to get back on the strip.

Yasmin crossed her arms over her chest and looked sternly at the....thing. ''Listen, we do not like people just surprising us like this and trying to join our group unexpected.'' Then, with a tone that made it obvious she was referring to something she couldn't say outright (for RP reasons)

''Maybe you should go clear things with the woman running this show, then come back to see if I'll take you on.''

(Too subtle?)

Sol sighs and nods wearily to Yasmin. "I have nothing to hide. I never thought too much about what I am, everyone is the same where I come from. In the old country, some called us Yokai as they drove us out. And these were the weapons I was trained in; I only use firearms when I need to. Now I have no quarrel with any on you, no stake in wars of this region. I ask only for your company for the night. Is that acceptable?"

David raises his eyebrows and says,"I wonder why you were driven out of the 'old country'. Maybe because your heavily armed and your not human? And like Yasmin said, it isn't our decision to let you in, you should talk the woman in charge."

Fuck that. Sol scratches his bald scalp nonchalantly and ignores the barb about his ancestors. "And where might I find this lady?"

Yasmin pulled at her hair. ''Stop disrupting the premise! Mutant thing, go away and come back in the morning. I'll be recruiting then. And this 'cabin' is for my team. There's a public one elsewhere where you can wait. Shoo!'' She watched him walk away where he stayed for the rest of the night, then looked at the two remaining members. ''Ok, one problem postponed. But where's Brad? Eh, forget it, he'll come back when he's hungry.'' She turned to Carib. ''My head's hurting. Would yoy like that date now? In the bathroom? All my subtlety got used up before.''

Sol put his hands in the air again and back away, bowing as he does so. He turns and strides off into the darkness whisltling "A Horse with No Name."

Carib nodded, "No need for subtlety, its not you, Yas. And I like plain speech. I can give you a back rub. I'll see if I can round up candles and a bottle of wine."

He waved his hand for Yasmin to lead the way.

Yasmin lead him into the cabin then turned around and grabbed him, kissing him hard before pulling back, a little out of breath. ''I was thinking we'd cut passed the drinking and the talking and get straight to the hot and sticky part.''
