From our good friend and news source Ausir comes some New Vegas news.

First, it seems that Mark Morgan might be working on Fallout: New Vegas. Morgan wrote the soundtracks for Fallout, Fallout 2 and Planescape: Torment, among many others.

Second, a company called Plastic Wax Animation - who produced cinematics for Bioshock, Borderlands and several other games - is supposed to be working on Fallout: New Vegas cinematics.

Well, I for one love the original soundtracks. I'm really hoping this rumor is true; Morgan's soundtracks really enhanced the whole experience for me and the mood that it set was perfect for the games.

I think New Vegas will certainly prove interesting... let's hope that it's also a good game.

Ughhhh. Not Morgan again. I know you guys love him to death, but I really don't like his music.
Do you think the Fallout 3 soundtrack fit the Fallout setting better than his soundtracks?

Fallout 3's "Original" Soundtrack sucked, just generic epic music, I maybe liked one track out of the whole score, I love every single track off of the Fallout 1 and 2 soundtracks.

Well if the rumors really prove to be true, then we might get something epic (epic on form of "good" Fallout not epic in form of "Lord of the rings fantasy RPG). I mean Bioschock got some nice animations, Mark Morgan music for the feeling. Now just good writing, better use of skills and we can expect some great game.

As said all for the case the rumors happen to be true!

The Morgan part is a rumor, the animation company part is not.

I really enjoy the music from the first 2 games, but I'm not sure that style would fit with New Vegas/Fallout 3 fallout as well as the kind of music that Fallout 3 had. In my opinion the Fallout 3 music was good enough, although I also loved running around the wastes with all those oldies playing. Good rumor, I'm sure he would do a better job that most.

I hope there's no combat music.
When you're just starting out, combat music can be a pretty helpful audio cue, but I always start hating it more and more as I progress through any game that has it.

MARK MORGAAAAAN!!!!

.

I hate myself for being such a fanboi. But if he does write the music, I'm buying the game.

Really hope it's true...

Fallout 3's soundtrack was one of the most generic I've ever heard. It did absolutely nothing for the game.

To be quite honest, except for the battle music being a little too heroic sounding along with the main theme, I thought it fit very well.

That's because the game was really forgettable as well...

I hope bethesda won't force him to do any generic epic orchestra shit. Good ol' ambient fits Fallout the best.
