New Vegas tidbits

just to get something straight, they're not talking about VATS, right? as far as I know, they've implemented more slo-mo deaths, even outside of VATS. and these will only occur at the end of a battle and can be turned off entirely. or am I mistaken?

Exactly.

Although VATS seemed a little faster in the videos from E3, or maybe it just was wishful thinking...

The slow-mo deaths at the ends of battles sound good to me, it would be satisfying to kill 15 guys and see the last guy's death in slow-mo.

That stupid raider armor from FO3 should have done something like this.

How would that make sense? Raider bands are sufficiently small so that everyone knows everyone else (especially in Fallout 3), and its not like all the raider gangs across the wasteland are a united faction in any way shape or form (Well, outside the toolset). It'd be bizarre if putting on armour made these raiders forget that they didn't know you. At best it should cause them to think that you're from another band of raiders and you're encroaching on their territory (so basically, they attack for a different reason).

It works both ways. They're the only ones stupid enough to wear that armor, therefore they should think you're one of them.
